Fedor vs Cro Cop II?
Sat Mar 10, 2012 8:21 pm
Anyone want to see this? Cro Cop said he wants to keep fighting as long as he doesn't have injuries. I want Fedor to keep fighting too but I don't want to see him sign with the ufc. Cro Cop is now available if they can work it out and Rampage might be shortly as well. Plus Kharitonov is out there as well at the moment. Some big name fighters are starting to move away from the ufc which I think is great. I hope Barnett leaves as well.
Get some big names back in Japan or in M-1 and you can really build.

Fedor vs Rampage would be interesting
I think Fedor would blast through Crocop the way it stands now...

Mirko's confidence is shot IMO. He is hesitant with his striking and seems too afraid to gett hit anymore. His legs don't seem well underneath him and he is constantly loosing his footing. It is time for Crocop to retire from MMA for good. I say this with great sorrow.
I would hurt me to see Fedor hurt Mirko at this point in their careers. I just don't want to have that as my last impression of Mirko in MMA. I am sad enough already after his UFC stint.

Ya Cro Cop needs to go out right now, and if he DOES decide to still compete, take the fucking JLB route and fight in IKF or w.e that japanese wrestling promotion is with the KO's haha. Cro Cop vs Aerts in that would be awesome.

Fedor is much better than Cro Cop now standing up and on the ground. I can´t stand seeing Cro Cop getting hurt so I don´t want to see this. If Cro Cop wants to fight a couple of more fights he should sign with KSW and fight some low tier guys and then retire. I want to see vintage Cro Cop entrances in the KSW crane like he used in K-1. F#ck I wish CroCop never signed with Ultimate cagefighting, such a waste of his last years as a fighter.

KSW freak show fights for Crocop.
He doesn't want to retire but at the same time his body (and probably brain) is broken.
The matchmaking should reflect that.
Also as a doktor I prescribe TRT. Clearly his testosterone levels are low.

Yeah since he can´t compete at a top level anymore some KSW freakshow fights would be cool. Pudz or James Thompson vs CroCop mayberezin wrote:KSW freak show fights for Crocop.

As far as the twitching I'm thinking that's more of a tick than anything but you never know.
I think slurred speech and general absentness is more an indication of brain damage,
and Crocop seems quite present and with clear speech.

I agree, tick is the word I was looking for. I read a lot of people think Cro Cop has brain damage but this looks like ticks to me and he had it as long as I can remember.rezin wrote:As far as the twitching I'm thinking that's more of a tick than anything but you never know.

I'm not interested in Fedor vs. CC II.
I'd like to see Fedor fight:
Konrad
Kharitonov
Guram
Ivanov (Hopefully he makes a full recovery and returns to MMA)
Grabowski
Malikov

Crocop isn't in his prime anymore....I thought we were all in agreement about this which would answer your question about fighting Fedor.
Only fight that makes sense in Dream at this point is :
CroCop vs Sapp
CroCop vs Jimmy Ambriz
Crocop vs Arlovski
Crocop vs Hongman Choi
Crocop vs Pudz
CroCop vs Alex II <---- give me this plz
Crocop vs Sylvia <---- this also
CroCop vs Kharitonov <--- and this (eventhough it's a mismatch)

^Yeah it could just be a nervous twitch or something, hard to say. Maybe he should just call it a day (I thought the Pat Berry fight was the one to go out on, it was perfect).

Most likely nerve damage or something earlier in his career. He had it in his prime, nothing serious I would think.
@6:40
He should retire though along with Sefo. If he enters the k-1 tourney I don't see him being competitive with Ghita, Saki etc. I even hear the Bonjasky is coming back to enter the tourney. He had a good chance to win when he peaked in 2001 but decided to move to mma. Fedor would knock him out at this point.
He's probably gonna continue fighting in k-1 and end up like Aerts, only less competitive.

Its a tick. I have the same thing, but in my left. After a lot of exercise, or strenuous hard work, my left arm does a twitch like that. He joked about it in his croatian documentary years back. He's had it pretty well his entire career, and it hasn't hindered him any.

At the same time, this is something I have been thinking about more and more lately. The main purpose of martial arts is self-defense, and you have secondary things learned from them like honor, respect, etc. In MMA, you have 2 highly skilled fighters, also pushing their body to very high levels physically, beating each other up. Though it is good to train for real, I think perhaps they are over doing it.
These guys get so many injuries and get hit in the head all the time during training and in fights (many of them anyway). I do question how long someone should fight. Look at guys like Liddell and Wanderlei, in 2003-2005 they were at the top of the game, had great chins, etc but the years of abuse have caught up to them where if you even look at them the wrong way they get knocked out. That obviously shows something is not right, their training and fights have now left them in a state where they are actually weaker than they were. Will guys like that have other long term effects? Maybe, I don't know, but they do have less ability to take damage now.
I'm not saying ban MMA or anything. They are grown men and can do whatever they want, I just question if it is a good idea. I have heard a lot of Thai Boxers in Thailand have to retire after about 5 years because their bodies are just so beaten down after all of those fights. These kind of thoughts have sort of moved me from a sport focus back to a self-defense focus, personally. You can still train hard without destroying your body though. Like with jiu-jitsu or wrestling (I understand you can get injured as with any contact sport) to get your cardio and health up.
It just seems like long term hard boxing, kickboxing, MMA, etc leaves you in a worse state after a certain point. Perhaps like anything it should be done in moderation.

That might happen in irresponsible only care for profit gyms, but physically at least Thai boxers have remarkable longevity considering the amount of fights and the rule set. The Thai's have perfected their
training methods to optimize technique and physicality while reducing injuries. Something is to be learned.
Mental banality is another matter.
