Top 5 worst UFC rip off orgs
Tue Mar 27, 2012 2:00 am
Spontanious this is the shit out of the hood:
1. RUFF- It's such a bad rip off, it's not funny anymore. Tries to get the cage and unified rules to china and even got ultimate in their name. I simply hope they go out of business soon.
2. Bellator- Weaker version of the UFC plus few ideas.
3. ROAD FC- They try to destroy Korean MMA, fuck them.
4. DARE- Same as road
5. ONE FC- Hyped up as fuck, but didn't proof any of this hype yet. Got also points of pride but cage and hype sounds more like UFC.

- UFC RIP OFF!!!!
face it, you guys don't want a non-zuffa org to become big, you want PRIDE.
I hate the cage with all my heart and soul, but i'm not going to NOT support and organization or shit on the organization because it uses a cage.

PRIDE is back but in a new form. It´s called M-1/KSW/United Glory/DREAM. The new Golden era is just around the corner you just have to keep the faith.Misowaman wrote:- Gets Cage

combat sports have been in a ring for over 100 years mma has been in a ring since the beginning, dogs fight in a cage. Now I dont like the fact that certian orgs use cage like bellator but that doesnt mean we dislike bellator we dont, infact we like it alot, we just wish it was in a ring. Op does have a point about one fc though, im still on the fence about it as of right now the only thing I like is the rules of that org. As one fc stands right now its just ufc lite in asia which imo is not a good thing. Hopefully this will change. one last thing, dont assume. We are true global mma fans here. Do not question our passion it is real we are NOT brainwashed sheep, like the masses. We ARE the spark that will help expose zuffa.

I agree with you on some of this but this one is not as good as your last poem "Fly Like Hitler". A modern classic!

This is not a forum's idea, this is Dang's idea. I'm a huge fan of Bellator and other cage promotions for example, even though i hate the cage too. All of us are, except Dang that hates cage with all his heart.

I don't particularly care for Bellator to be honest.
The cage did little to hamper my entertainment at the last One FC.

I don't care for Bellator either, but not because of the cage, because I like two fighters in the organization.
If you think KSW or M-1 can even approach what PRIDE was, you're kidding yourselves. PRIDE hosted the best fighters from everywhere, KSW hosts one great fighter in Khalidov, and M-1 is average at best imo.
Hoping for a second coming of PRIDE is just going to leave you hating yourself, just watch the fights, who cares where they come from, or if they're in a ring or not? Support the fighters, not the organization.

That's true. Nothing will be like Pride, but still some orgs are trying to get back what we lost when Pride disappeared.
Supporting the fighters and not orgs is what this forum's all about. Even though some members love some orgs. All i know is as much as i support some orgs to grow and give fighters chances, i rather see fighters being free from them.
KSW and M-1 might not have the best fighters yet, of course. They're still growing and one day it can be much better. At least they co-promote, when they have a great roster things will be very interesting.

ONE FC and Bellator are sweet and growing. They have some awesome fighters under contract and they put on great fights. ONE FC rules are among the best in MMA. If they got rid of the open guard rule and went to a ring they would have the best rules in my opinion. I like ring and cage but Asian MMA, in my opinion, belongs in a ring.

combat sports period belongs in a ring. If you're into two guys taking their shirts off, taking their shoes off, and choking each other in a cage, that's your business, but the cage was a gimmick that caught on.

Then again, MMA doesn't deserve to be in a ring. MMA is a sport that is the bastard offspring of Boxing and Professional Wrestling, and tries to distance itself from it's roots as much as possible while promoting men getting naked and choking one another.
It's an entertainment porno, keep that nonsense away from the ring.

I like ring slightly better because it offers more advantage to strikers over wrestlers unlike the cage. However, I prefer both ring and cage because they offer variety to the sport so things don't become stale and the same thing every time. I like watching MMA under unified rules one week in a cage in North America with elbows allowed and then in a ring the next under full rules or PRIDE rules with soccer kicks, stomps, and knees on the ground (and potentially elbows) in a ring in Asia as well (or under unified rules in a ring in Europe). I like the variety.
All sports have variety in the rules like this; such as, indoor soccer vs. outdoor soccer, indoor lacrosse vs. outdoor lacrosse, Olympic hockey vs. NCAA hockey vs. NHL hockey, NBA basketball vs. NCAA basketball vs. Olympic basketball, Arena football vs. Canadian football vs. NFL football vs. NCAA football, tennis on a grass court vs. tennis on a clay court,......................
Variety is a great thing for this sport and the top fighters should be able to perform well under any of these rule sets.

The ring has nothing to do with wrestler advantage because Randleman and even Renzo laid on opponents in corners.
Its more with the ruleset. If you add more legal strikes to the ground, it'll force the wrestler to not just focus on wrestling but round out the rest of his game in hopes of finishing.

ONE FC is nothing but hype until this point of time, they even pay for their ESPN TV Deal

Agreed, the rules make a bigger difference but the ring gives a bit more advantage to strikers over wrestlers when compared to a cage. I agree though, strikers or wrestlers could be successful in either platform but in comparison the ring is a bit more suited for strikers.

I disagree. Yes, they do hype a lot but that is just marketing. Their last event was sweet. They put on some sweet exciting fights. They allow full rules which is awesome even with the open guard rule. Soccer kicks, stomps, knees on the ground, and elbows. Can't beat that aside from eliminating the open guard rule. They are building some great new fighters who use various fighting styles like Sanda,... They also have the ONE Asia Network where they cross-promote with other organizations and bring in champs from all over to compete and share their fighters with them. They have two DEEP champs on their next card as well as awesome DREAM fighters. ONE FC is great in my opinion. I just wish they would go to a ring and get rid of the open guard rule. Aside from that they are an awesome new org.

What I dislike most about the cage, besides the appearance, is how fighters press each other against the cage and wrestlers can hold strikers there before going for a takedown. You can´t trap someone against the ropes in the ring. I still enjoy fights in the cage but those are my biggest concerns.CDF47 wrote:moronoRepublic wrote:The ring has nothing to do with wrestler advantage because Randleman and even Renzo laid on opponents in corners.

Absolutely. I hate the wall and stall in a cage. I wish the refs. would break this up sooner in a cage. I do not mind it for a few to give the fighter a chance to strike in the clinch against the cage or go for a take down but the refs. let the fights stall against the cage for way way too long. The ring is much better in this regard. The ring takes a lot of this advantage away from the wrestler.
