They are good opponents for prospects to fight. If the prospects win, they have put their name on the map and can then step up to bigger names.
I agree 100%

Rogers I can understand but Minowa needs to stick strictly at his own weightclass for the rest of his career, he's taken way too much punishment as of late and I'd rather him not end up like Sakuraba.

I agree, actually i would like to see Rogers in the gp....but not minowa...make a freak fight with him like the old days, bring akebono to face him or something

looks like Prochazka and Aliakbari might be a match up. Recent youtube vid of Prochazka training says so
Albrektsson beat Nemkov so I would be supprised to see him in
I see Crocop wrecking any of these guys, wonder who will have to fight him
If the Aukstuolis vs Kenneth Bergh rumor is true, that leaves 4 spots left in the tournament (if their will be a bye for 1 other than Wand)
The Jungle Fight winner from this weekend should get a spot, leaving 3 left. I think Mo and Kirill have earned their spot I hope they pick them and 1 more legend from the Pride days Sergei, Rampage, Arona, Minowa would all be cool.

Bad ass tournament so far, and I actually got more excited than I would've thought when I read Krazy Horse is going to fight in Japan again. Hopefully he gives Kimura a little bit of hell and they have a great bout.

It starts in just a little over 3 weeks from now. I wish they would release who is fighting who.

Wand practicing stomps is a great photo. Can't wait to see him back in JMMA ring.
Some other cool photos added here.

This thing is in like 20 days and we don't even know who is in it, much less who is fighting who. I wish they would at least announce who is in it, even if they don't announce who is fighting who yet.

^ agreed
I get that it is basically tradition at this point to announce matches as late as possible but why not turn a new leaf?

^Yeah, I get keeping the hype going. But maybe once a week release a few more names. Then the last week or two, release who is fighting who.

I mean it is completly fine throw a high and slam into someones head and them fall and smack their head on the canvas
but you use a soccer kick and your'e barbaric .

Tournament is set (except for 1 fighter who I assume they want to be Fedor with the Fedor vs Wanderlei rumor or could possibly be Carwin since he wanted in)
Kaido Hoovelson vs Kazuyuki Fujita
Jiri Prochazka vs Mark Tanios
Amir Aliakbari vs Joao Isidoro Almeida
Teodoras Aukstuolis vs Szymon Bajor
Karl Albrektsson vs Valentin Moldavsky
Mirko Filipovic vs Hyun Man Myung
Wanderlei Silva (BYE)

I'd prefer to see Carwin in the GP and then save Fedor for a NYE fight.

I don't see Fedor in the gp at 40 years old....
King Mo will be the other fighter to get the bye representing bellator and basically defending his title of last year...
I don't see Carwin in the gp, with the list of young fighters Carwin is not a big name in Japan ...I see him with either bellator or Wsof in the near future

I don't think Fedor will be in GP either but hoping for NYE appearance. Carwin would be a great addition to GP but they would need to sign him up quickly. Event is only a couple weeks out.
