GLORY 46 SuperFight Series will mark the debut of heavyweight Antônio "Bigfoot" Silva, the promotion's latest signing. His fighting resume includes black belts in Shotokan Karate, Judo, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, as well as heavyweight titles held for Mixed Martial Arts promotions Cage Rage, Cage Warriors, and EliteXC.

During his run as a top heavyweight in the UFC and Strikeforce, Silva competed for the UFC heavyweight championship and notched wins over Fedor Emelianenko, Alistair Overeem, Andrei Arlovski, and Travis Browne. The Brazilian's MMA record stands at 19-12-1, with 14 wins coming by way of knockout.

A tough task awaits “Bigfoot” in October, as he will stand across from the undisputed heavyweight kingpin and one of the most accomplished strikers in heavyweight history. GLORY 46 SuperFight Series is headlined by a non-title superfight between Silva and GLORY heavyweight world champion Rico "The King of Kickboxing" Verhoeven (51-10, 14 KO, fighting out of the Netherlands).

With victories inside the GLORY ring over legends of the sport like Badr Hari, Peter Aerts, Daniel Ghita, and Gokhan Saki, as well as respected contemporaries Errol Zimmerman and Benjamin Adegbuyi, Verhoeven reeled off 13 wins in-a-row (including five title defenses) to become kickboxing's brightest star.

Damn right. I fear for him.

I don't know what Bigfoot is thinking. The dude has been taking so much damage lately. He should focus on grappling events, not striking. With his grappling ability and size, he would be tough for anyone to beat in BJJ tournaments. Even if he wants to do more MMA, he should fight guys that come from grappling backgrounds and can't strike well or have no punching power. His brain needs a lot of rest after all the Knockouts he has suffered.

No doubt about it. This fight doesn't make sense for him.

His name value in mma is not worth much i doubt many promoters are willing to pay him what he wants...

He definitely should retire imo hes not getting better with age and his predisclosed Testosterone deficiency he needs to reevaluate his life plans.

Yeah, this kickboxing match is not smart but I guess he just wants the money. I see him getting KO'd in this one.

To be fair, one can hardly make any real assessments based on rhat fight. Bigdoot kickboxing a top kickboxer was sorta lime Mcgregor boxing.

Not that I'm against MMA guys kickboxing, I like the idea, nut they should match them in at least percievably somewhat competitive fights. Seemed lime Old Van just dis whatever he wanted in there.

With Fedor I would like to see him in a bout with sonnen cause fuck it why not ? I don't think Fedor is interested in winning championship been there done that his top 5 goat status is locked I personally think he is the goat despite what tufftards say .add rampage wand King mo chieck Kongo
