I thought I would post this debate on who is the greatest heavyweight ever. Some people are picking stipe because he fights more "advanced" heavyweights yep because guys like Nganou who are just power punches that gas out in the first round and has no idea what to do on the ground are more "advanced".

Yeah, right. They should know Fedor is not only the greatest HW but the greatest fighter in MMA.

^^ he is no matter what they say I consider him as the greatest ever I don't care how "evolved" it gets. ^^

Frank is the favorite in this bout but watching both count downs fedor looks like he is training like a mad man though frank is the same.

If frank wins he would of have beaten 3 pride legends then we will have to listen to them gloat.

If fedor wins thats another ufc champion to his name  though they will have their repetitive excuses ready.

I agree.

Very true.

I like Miocic but he's the latest flavor of the month that the zombies and media put against Fedor in a heavyweight goat contest. First it was Couture then Lesnar then Velasquez and now Miocic. Remember how they were saying Velasquez was the greatest four years ago? How has Miocic fought advanced heavyweights? Ngannou who had zero ground and gassed after the first round? JDS who's been washed up for years?

According to them since they fought in the Holly octagon that automatically Makes Nganou more advanced. They go on about fedor "scared of ufc competition" here is a list of guys who fedor fought that were are in the ufc
1 Kerry Schall win (it was ultimate fighter still part of the ufc)
2 tk kohsaka loss
3 Renato sobral win
4 Chris haseman win
5 semmy Schilt win
6 heath herring win
7 Antonio noguiera win
8 Gary Goodridge win
9 mark Coleman win
10 Kevin Randleman  win
11 mirko cro cop win
12 mark hunt  win
13 Matt lindland win
14 Tim Sylvia win
15 Andrei arlovski win
16 fabricio werdum loss
17 big foot silva loss
18 Dan Henderson loss
19 Jeff Monson win
20 Pedro Rizzo win
21 Fabio maldanado win
22 Matt Mitrione  loss

22x technically it is 25 I only put Coleman and noguiera once. These men have fought in the ufc  so I don't see how he is scared since he fought 22 guys that were are in the ufc .

About 98% won a Mma title at some point.

They also don't seem to realize or are in denial about the fact that if Fedor was scared about top competition then he would've went to the UFC in 2002 after RINGS shut down. PRIDE was number 1.

29x man he has fought more ufc fighters then some ufc fighters.

Yes pride was number one but try and tell them that
Example Dan Hanson seems to be a fake name "this isn't pride this real" "ref wearing an ear piece" really? 10 years and some how no one noticed the red wearing an ear piece?  Even in the early to mid 2000s thing weren't exactly wireless.
Last and not least they would not be able to answer why would pride fix for foreign fighters?

And you know he'll trash Mir. Easily. Calling it now, to gloat later.

After all these years, here is Fedor in another big fight, and I can't wait.

I think the fight will get a lot of viewers, and it should be an exciting event.

I think this is a good matchup.

Bellator press conference I agree with frank Mir on 2 things

1 yes fedor is still dangerous and that Mititone match was a freak double knock down matt just got up first

2 he still has the heart of a lion especially in that fabio fight were he was hurt badly and came back

Frank is not facing the pride fedor let's be real 2004 fedor would beat 2018 fedor of course you can make the argument he isn't facing the best frank Mir either frank I still think prime fedor beats prime Mir but it would be a tough match up for both.

On fedor chin people say his chin is glass really? Henderson and Mitirone both possess knock out power and apart from big foot who chin is basically hole punched how many has he knocked out? Yes frank can tko his area is the ground.

Fedor should play the speed game

I think Fedor can keep this on the feet and win the fight there by TKO. I don't think Mir can out strike 2018 Fedor. I hope not.

Fedor Emelianenko, Frank Mir break down their long-awaited Bellator 198 fight
By Matt Erickson | April 26, 2018 9:00 am

(This story first was published at USATODAY.com.)

ROSEMONT, Ill. – For someone once revered as one of the most feared mixed martial arts heavyweights in the world, Fedor Emelianenko doesn’t cut a necessarily imposing figure.

The legendary Russian is 41 now, but even when he was much younger, his soft-spoken nature and humility didn’t help strike fear into his opponents. Instead, they just watched what he did during a stretch that saw him go 31-1 over nearly a decade and that was enough.

But fans always cast a little doubt on Emelianenko’s superiority. Despite a 27-fight winning streak, because he wasn’t fighting in the UFC during his run, there always were critics wondering what would’ve happened had he not been fighting for PRIDE in Japan.

Saturday, Emelianenko (36-5 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) might be able to chase some of those questions away when he fights Frank Mir (18-11 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) in the Bellator 198 main event at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill., near Chicago.

Bellator 198 breakdown: Fedor Emelianenko vs. Frank Mir a matter of who's evolved more
When Emelianenko was ruling as PRIDE’s heavyweight champion, Mir won the UFC’s heavyweight title in 2004, then its interim heavyweight belt in 2008. A fight between the two is one hardcore fans were pining for more than a dozen years ago. Now it finally will happen under the Bellator banner as part of the promotion’s ongoing heavyweight tournament. The winner will advance to a fight against Chael Sonnen in the semifinals.

“Frank Mir is a remarkable and strong fighter, and I’m very happy to fight him,” Emelianenko told USA TODAY Sports. “This was a fight I was looking for for some time, as well. There was a time he was one of the best fighters, so he occupied the top of the rankings. During my career, I watched his fights, and I followed his career. I’m quite aware of his fights.”

But when it comes to wondering about his legacy as one of the all-time greats, Emelianenko falls back on his humility.

“The main thing for me is that I would like be remembered by fans not as a fighter, but as a person – as a Russian Orthodox person,” Emelianenko said. “I don’t think about what I haven’t done yet. Certainly, I’d love to win the tournament, because that will add to the prestige of my country.”

Mir will come into the fight as a slight favorite despite returning from a layoff in excess of two years thanks to a failed drug test for a banned steroid after his final fight in the UFC in March 2016.

But he isn’t worrying about his own legacy much, either. Mir does acknowledge a fight with “The Last Emperor” is one that will mean something not just to fans, but to him, as well.

“Of course I’ve always wanted to match up against him, and I feel like I match up well against him,” Mir said. “Fedor’s not a big guy. He’s quick and he’s fast, but that’s why I came in shape. When I’m in shape, I’m just as quick as he is. … I think it’s an interesting fight, and I’ve wanted to put myself out there and dance with him for a long time.”

Frank Mir seems to be the favorite on the other mma sites fedor is the slight under dog. I hate to say it but fedor is the one who has more to lose if he wins then beats sonnen even if he loses the final no one can deny he made it after people basically tried to put out to pasture.

If fedor loses God I sure as hell hope not like I said if fedor loses those ass holes will have a field day.

Now on Mir jiu-jitsu now people talk about it and how the ground is in frank Mir advantage but apart from noguiera who was basically zombie nog which other elite bjj black belt has Mir tapped out?.

How do I see it?

Frank. With frank since he has been doing boxing at mayweathers gym I see him using straight punches using his size to push fedor against the cage and grind on him if frank wins it would be either by tko.

With fedor I think fedor will hang back and wait for his opportunity to blast frank Mir with those Russian hooks he needs to be careful not get caught by something and he needs to keep his back off the cage. I think fedor has more of the advantage when it comes to cardio fedor has been to the distance and has never seem to tire out. I got fedor by either knock out or a decision.

I know I'm bound to get one right.

I hope you're right. KO or TKO would be nice for Fedor.

Neither are in shape but during in there prime, Frank was the best especially in a real company where that Yakuzas wernt involved n roids n illegal supplements wer needed for most fighters.

From Facebook what a joke this guy is I bet he will come up with some sort excuse if fedor wins while parroting his pride fights were not "real" mantra.

Fedor in 2004 would beat heavyweight in mma bell 2004 fedor could beat any heavyweight today.
