I made the stupid mistake of checking out the youtube comments for this song.

I thought it might be good for a quick laugh.

And what do I encounter? Nothing other than this:

Hmm... Just came here from the Meatloaf version. Here are my thoughts:

Meatloaf sings with emotion, and sounds like he's on the verge of tears in his version. Celine just sings, nothing more to it.

Now, to put that in perspective, I can see the Celine version playing in a movie during a part where a group of high school girls start rebelling against their parents, marching toward them in rythym or something... or maybe as a finale in an episode of Glee.

The meatloaf version would only make sense to me in a fantasy movie setting, with the main character alone in an abandoned house, empty park, or forest. Interestingly enough, the official music video depicted the former.

Whichever version is better pertains to an individual's personal tastes. Do you want something lighthearted, or something with a longing sense of dread? Myself, I believe the latter makes more sense with the lyrics of this song in particular, but that's just my personal opinion. c:
