Shogun could have Ko'd and killed Hendo with back of the head shots in the first round. He chose to follow the rules and lost because of it.

Give me a break. Hendo was so gassed he stopped punching the back of the head and was pleading for a stoppage. Before the back of the head shots Shogun rolled to his knees and grabbed a single leg. Was hurt about as bad as Hendo was twice before. Then the illegal blows. Nice win for Shogun by DQ.

Shogun was out, from hammer fists to the back of the head. I dont know why anyone would support cheating, especially since back of the head shots have killed boxers before.

The strikes didn't matter he was turtles up and done.

My point being to you that had he survived that burrage the ref would see the mess Dan made of his face, then would have called in a doctor ending the fight due to injury.

Plain and simple shogun could have finished but didn't.

Hendo can change the out come of a fight he's not winning more than anybody ever.

From what I can see it was the ground shots that put Shogun in a daze. The shot to the nose was right to the tip and somewhat glancing when it busted Shogun's nose. His eyes weren't rolling back or anything. He was not out that's for sure. Just kinda clipped hard with a partial fist to the end of the nose and it snapped it sideways.

The shot on the feet to the nose wasn't a big-fisted head trauma to the skull, brain, or jaw. It was the big power shots on the ground pounding Shogun's brain into an immoveable object that made him loopy at the end. Who wouldn't be?

The f***cking refs gotta stop this shit immediately after the first shot to the back of the head. Just like they do with an illegal upkick or and illegal kick to a downed opponent. They should be jumping right in between the action and stopping it and then give the waring.

It's really terrible. Zuffa & the commission have to call themselves out to protect the fighters & the integrity of the competition. There is no f***ng difference between stopping a flurry of upkicks after the first illegal one and stopping the action with the first back of the head strike on the ground when the top fighter is trying to finish. This is real a bunch of bullshit.

I notice that Dana and Zuffa very rarely, if at all, complain about this. The ground kill KO to the back of the head sells more tickets and draws more blood thirsty tv viewers.

Sad, ive seen rabbit punches to the back of the head with 10oz boxing gloves kill a boxer. Unbelievable after hammer fists to the back of the head Shogun wasnt hurt worse. One hammer fist to the back of the head from a professional is enough to do serious damage. Henderson landed three.

Not saying he didn't land illegal shot's but you could see in shoguns demeanor he was seriously hurt before the flurry of questionable strikes he was already loopy and was holding on to a leg not advancing position.

The first right that hit shogun that made him roll over like lesnar did to Herring hit shogun square on the chin it was clear as day.

The followup nose steam roller was the fight ender.

IMO.if anything the ref shoulda called it right then the illegal shot's were unfortunate and unnecessary.

The knock down nose shot is glancing. It is not a knock you senseless shot to your brain or jaw. The second while Shogun is down is more solid doing more nose damage but Shogun is not googoo or dropping face first on the canvas. Many a nose get's busted (including my own) in fights without anyone betting KO's. Like the crumple zones on your car... the noses bones & cartilage absorb a lot of the force of a collision with a fist.

The nose shots did NOT win the fight. Shogun's head dropped down to the canvas from the back of the skull shots. The 5 shots to the back of the head (the softest spot on your skull.... just ask Pol Pot) won the fight for Henderson. Shogun was loopy from those.

Terrible refereeing to a repeat repeat repeat offender. Not good. This shit has to stop.
