Global-MMA Ranking Rules

*This ranking system includes fighters that are not under exclusive contract to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

*Top level fighters that leave the UFC may be ranked in subsequent rankings.

*Fighters that sign exclusively to the UFC will be removed from the rankings.

*Rankings are based on a fighter's overall career results and recent performance.

*A fighter will be ranked number one if he defeats the number one ranked fighter in the weight division except under certain rare circumstances where the number two ranked fighter clearly deserves to move into the number one ranking position.

*Victories over highly ranked fighters and losses against non-ranked opponents have a larger effect on the fighters ranking position.

*A fighter will not necessarily take the place of his opponent in the rankings after a victory or a loss.

* A fighter can move up a maximum of three spots with impressive victories over a fighter ranked below him; however, there is no limit if the fighter earned a title or a tournament championship with the victory.

* An unranked newly crowned champion who earned a title in a major league MMA promotion can enter the top ten even with a victory over an unranked fighter.

*A fighter will drop in the rankings if he does not fight regularly against high level competition.

*A top ten ranked fighter can become ranked in another weight division after one or more wins in his new weight class.

*A fighter can be ranked in two different weight divisions.

*Champions and fighters from prominent promotions will have an advantage over champions and fighters from promotions with lesser competition.

*A fighter will be removed from the rankings if he does not fight for two years.

*Fighters that are signed to multiple promotions will have their promotions listed based on the following criteria: 1) championship held in a promotion, 2) predominant promotion the fighter fights in, 3) promotion
last fought in.

*Rankings will be updated every month.

Cuz cage warriors isn't a top company and doesn't house much depth in talent.its Europe's kotc with a few vets and occasional home grown talent.

Bellator like it or not stu has world class talent and is recognized by anyone with common sense.

CW puts on a better production than bellator ...far too much bias towards american promotions

spike just want cheap ratings ...CW is actually moving the sport forward not backwards with tuf rejects and roided up pro wrestlers...

We had Cage Warriors champs on here but as soon as they get some good wins they are off to Zuffa land and drop off. Same with Jungle Fight, Shooto Brazil, and some other orgs.

Where do you all think Wand should be ranked at MW? He may be fighting on NYE in Japan and will be listed as a free agent next month.

Ahead of Kaz Nak and behind Manhoef if you ask me, Wand's been inactive for over a year and a half so I think #11 is plenty generous.

Also Falcao should come down a bit to like #9 or #10.

That's exactly where I had Wand on my PC before asking. Falcao will prob. get passed up soon. He hasn't been doing too good lately.

Thanks Johan. Erokhin will continue to climb up. After his next fight, I will bring him up into to top 8 or so if he wins.

I will have the guys below Materla pass him up soon as they win fights. A number of people think Materla is a bit too high.

Will Dave Jansen be added? I think Hawn went back to LW. Also why is Venom Page top 10? He has not beaten anyone notable & did not look great in his last fight.

Good call on Dave Jansen, he took some legit scalps lately and seems to be forgotten.

Yeah, if Jansen wins his next fight will move him up to 12 in contenders.  Also, if someone in contenders loses, I'll replace him with Jansen.

Yeah, Hawn is back and forth.  He is in the last spot in contenders at WW.  If his next fight is at LW, he'll drop out of WW.

Page moved up a bit after each win in Bellator. I agree, his last fight was not real impressive at all.

Going to have to get Koji Ando into the LW rankings next month. Big win over Zoro at ONE FC. He was the last Legend lightweight champion beating Jadamba Narantungalag there. He also beat former Australian LW champ Rob Hill in Legend. He also has a recent first round sub win over Rafael Nunes who was undefeated at the time at 10-0.

Been wanting to get Ando in here for a while and the Zoro win will get him added.

I had Dave Jansen ranked in the past but he got past up by other fighters.

I posted ranking to other site but anyway here the feedback.

For HW's not on the list:

Shamil Abdurahimov - has wins over Sokoudjou, Neil Grove, Kenny Garner
Denis Goltsov - has wins over Konstantin Erokhin, Roy Boughton, Brett Rogers

LHW not on the list:

Maxim Grishin - although he used to be a HW, he hasnt lost since moving to LHW (6 straight wins) he has wins over Alexander Volkov, Mario Miranda, Rodney Wallace, Trevor Prangley

MW not on the list:

looks good, maybe Tomasz Drwal

WW not on the list:

Roan Carneiro - Just won a single night 8 man tourney he took out Brock Larson in the finals
Adam McDonough - has only 1 loss on his record, that was against Koreshkov.

LW's not on the list:

Dave Jansen - only has 2 loses on his record and has beat Rick Hawn, Marcin Held
Alexander Sarnavskiy - another solid prospect with loses to Will Brooks, Rich Clementi, but has wins over Dakota Cochrane, Ricardo Tirloni, Marcus Davis
Rick Hawn - Floats back and forth between LW and WW so I can understand why he might not be on the list

FW's

Justin Wilcox - has decent wins at several weight classes(Voelkner, Ruediger, Daisuke Nakamura, Shamar Bailey, Vitor Ribeiro, Rodrigo Damm) he's just inconsistent
Desmond Green - Solid bluechip prospect, I expect him to only get better now that he's gone to Tristar

BW

Rafael Silva - couldnt beat the top dog in Bellator, but still should be considered
Jimmie Rivera - he is 15-1 fought in Bellator and WSOF, the problem is most of his fights go to Decision so he has not been noticed.
Mike Richman - Only has 1 fight at BW but looked incredibly sharp, will be interesting where he goes from here
Robert Emerson - also hasnt fought much at BW, lost to Rafael Silva in his last fight.

FLY

Darren Uyenoyama - cant win in the big leagues but could still make waves
Pedro Nobre - 17-1 and now with Titan FC
Nick Honstein - mixed results but his last fight was a split decision lose to Nobre
Giovanni da Silva Santos Jr. - 15-1, needs better competition now
Allan Nascimento - only 23 years old, has slick submission skills

Junior Fly/Straw

Daichi Kitakata - just has 1 fight at Strawweight, now that he's at a lower weight, needs more consistency - only 23 years old
Kento Kanbe - he's 17 years old!!!!! 7-0, this kid could make waves
Masatatsu Ueda - 3-0-1, needs more experience
Karl Marx Mazoni - 4-0 another prospect on his way up

Shamil was ranked in the past but lost a fight and was then past up. He could return.

Will have to look out for Goltsov. He's on the radar.

Grishin has been on the radar for a long time since early M-1 fights. He too could get on in the future.

Drwal would need a decent win to be added.

8 man tourney win and finish of Larson is impressive for Roan. Will have to keep watch of him.

Jansen was on here in the past but got passed up. Same with Sarnavskiy. Hawn just lost at LW after leaving WW. There are a lot of solid LWs out there and with only 15 spots it's often a hard choice on who to put in the contenders.

Some good names at the lower weight classes, BW and FW. Some have been ranked in the past.

Okami looked terrible in that fight. Branch looked pretty good. Branch will move up from number 9 to number 4 which is a giant leap for him right behind the Bellator champ. Okami will drop to the 7 spot behind Shlemenko. He looked bad.

Gaethje looked excellent as always. He will enter the top 3 ahead of Chandler.

With the loss to Gaethje, Melvin will drop out of the LW rankings and be replaced by Dave Jansen who seems to have the popular vote to replace him.

A number of other updates next month as well.

Minakov and Tybura is starting to become a tougher call for the top HW spot.  If the Tybura/Kharitonov fight happens and Tybura finishes him, he should probably be considered for the top spot.

I wouldn't argue against Tybura being number one right now.
