Found this about Coga Combat Games on tapology
Joe DeRobbio, founder of COGA FIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP has been involved in MMA on every level since 1992. Joe’s been a fighter, coach, referee, promoter, and advocate for the legalization, and safety of the sport. In 1995, Joe became Washington States first professional referee. Joe refereed the first “Super Brawl” in Hawaii, and has worked all over the country. After 13 years working as a combat official, Joe had the vision to create an organization that focused on providing a unified platform, promoting young up-and-coming fighters. Joe saw the need to implement higher safety standards, better trained officials, minimum insurance, and medical coverage for the future and longevity of the sport.
In 2008, COmbat GAmes (COGA) was founded, establishing COGA MMA training center, a 2500 square foot facility in Woodinville, Washington. In 2009, COGA began promoting the COmbat GAmes Fighting Championships, titled Rumble on the Ridge. COGA was voted the number one Pro-Am fight promotion in the Pacific Northwest. COGA has promoted more than 25 successful MMA shows in just over 3.5 years.
Here are a few COGA fighters that have moved on to the big show:
UFC Flyweight champion - "Mighty Mouse" Demetrious Johnson fought on first ROTR in 2009 and was the first amateur ROTR 135 Champion
UFC 15 TUF winner - Mike "Maverick" Chiesa
Sam Sicilia
Jeff "Hellbound" Hougland
Cody Mckenzie
Demico "Night Train" Rogers
Len "The Liger" Bently
Lyle "Fancypants" Beerbohm
Ian "The Barn Owl" Loveland
Mike "300" Hayes
