Bellator MMA Inks Lightweight Knockout Artist Melvin Guillard

Bellator MMA officials are proud to announce that they have signed MMA fan-favorite Melvin “The Young Assassin” Guillard (32-14-2) to a multi-year, multi-fight contract.
A debut date and opponent will be announced for Guillard in the near future.
At only 32 years of age, “The Young Assassin” has amassed 50 professional bouts in a career that dates back to 2002. With 21 victories coming by KO, Guillard has generated a large fan base with his exciting fighting style.

“We are excited to have Melvin coming onboard,” said Bellator President Scott Coker. “With

competitors the likes of Lightweight Champion Will Brooks, Michael Chandler, Marcin Held, Derek Anderson, Saad Awad, Dave Jansen, and Patricky Pitbull on the roster already, the matchup possibilities for an exciting fighter like him are endless.”

Guillard owns victories over notable names that include Marcus Davis, Dennis Siver, Gleison Tibau, Evan Dunham, and Jeremy Stephens.

Bellator is stepping it up signing alot of great prospects and solid vets.

Melvin is not a solid vet.

He has 14 losses and is a cast off from wsof. He couldnt even stick around in the zuffa minor leagues.

In his last 10 fights he has a 3-6-1 record.

Hes well known to casials,puts on good fights win or lose,when he's on he's a very good fighter.

Hes hit a rough patch but is still a good fighter.

He can be used as any competent fighters bounce back fight.

3-6-1 record in his last 10 fights shows he's on his way out of the sport.

He goes through peaks and valleys its been well documented that melvin is his own biggest opponent.

When hes on tho he can ko pretty much anybody in lw division.

I've never been a huge supporter but i have never disliked any of his fights....just mostly him as a person.

Him vs anybody at lw will make for action he is a good name value pick up especially for casuals.
