The Legendary Trio” Choi Hong-Man, Choi Mu-Bae, and Yoon Dong-Sik will participate
13 May, 2015 – ROAD Fighting Championship will launch its global expansion by holding its first-ever overseas event in Tokyo, Japan on 15 July, 2015. ROAD FC 024 will take place at the 10,000-seat Ariake Coliseum, the 2020 Summer Olympics venue for tennis.
At ROAD FC 024, “The Legendary Trio” of Korea’s famous Mixed Martial Artists Choi Hong-Man, Choi Mu-Bae, and Yoon Dong-Sik will participate.
Choi Hong-Man, Choi Mu-Bae, and Yoon Dong-Sik turned from their top spots in the respective fields of ssireum wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, and judo to MMA. These athletes-turned-living second lives left a distinct mark on the martial arts stage.
Choi Hong-Man will make his debut with ROAD FC in his return to MMA
“Techno Goliath” Choi Hong-Man is an over 2-meter giant who turned from Korean traditional wrestling to kickboxing. On 19 March, 2005 at the K-1 Grand Prix in Seoul he debuted against Wakashoyo and KOed him, then stopped Akebono on the same night with a 29 second TKO.
Since continuing to fight in K-1, Choi Hong-Man earned a record of 12-6 and showed his incredible KO power against top opponents in the world, including Bob Sapp, Jerome Le Banner and Gary Goodrich. In MMA with K-1 and DREAM, he also fought the best in the world, like Fedor, Mirko Cro Cop, and Minowaman.
ROAD FC CEO Jung Moon-Hong said:
“We’ve worked towards this for the past five years, now all the rehearsals are over. Japan will led the advance, proving that we want to work together to expand Korean MMA around the world. ROAD FC will be South Korea’s first MMA league to export to a foreign country and it will surely be a success story.”

At ROAD FC 024, the Middleweight Title Match will be contested for by top contenders Riki Fukuda and Jeon Uh-Jin. Fukuda joined ROAD FC after a lengthy time in the UFC. The outstanding wrestler and heavy striker is now 3-0 in ROAD FC. He has finished all three of his opponents with punches and earned the right at the title shot.
Jeon is a tough as nails 21 year old prodigy who has quickly risen to the top of the middleweight division. He is 3-1 inside the ROAD FC cage, with very impressive performances each time. Jeon has definite knockout power, however, his takedowns and grappling are very impressive.
Seasoned veteran Fukuda and prodigy Jeon will make the ROAD FC Middleweight Title Match an historic battle!
As previously announced, "The Legendary Trio" of Korea's famous Mixed Martial Artists will appear on ROAD FC 024 as Choi Hong-Man will compete, as well as Yoon Dong-Sik will take on Takase Daiju and Choi Mu-Bae will face Kawaguchi Yusuke.

At ROAD FC 024, four stand out fighters from Japan and Korea have been added to the event: Minowaman, Kim Soo-Chul, Kim Min-Woo, and Shoko Sato.
Ikuhisa Minowa, known simply as "Minowaman" to his fans, is one of the most experienced, well-known, and exciting MMA fighters of all time. He has been competing in the cage and ring for almost 20 years! Minowaman has fought some of the greatest fighters of all time such as “Rampage” Jackson, Wanderlei Silva, Kazushi Sakuraba, and “Cro Cop” Filipovic. Minowaman celebrated his historic 100th fight in ROAD FC, and now he will make history again in the first ROAD FC event in Japan!
Kim Soo-Chul is one of Korea's best fighters ever produced, and one of the best Bantamweights in the world. The former One FC Bantamweight Champion is only 23 years old with a win streak of three fights over top opponents. Kim's has already defeated Japan's UFC veterans Tezuka Motonobu and Tamura Issei, so his next match in Japan will be a hot contest!
Kim Min-Woo is a prospect from Korea who will be making his first fight abroad when he fights in ROAD FC 024 in Japan. His record of 5-2 at just 21 years old shows he has a very bright future in front of him. Kim was on a winning streak of 5 fights when he faced the recent Bantamweight Title Challenger Moon Jae-Hoon. He traded kick for kick with the Taekwondo Master, and went to the decision; even though the split decision went to Moon, Kim showed he is ready to challenge the best!
Sato Shoko is one of Japan's top Bantamweights who is very well-known to Korean fans since he began competing in ROAD FC 002. Sato has fought the toughest in Korea, including Kim Soo-Chul and Moon Jae-Hoon, and he is now on a terrific winning streak of five fights in Pancrase, VTJ, and Shooto. ROAD FC is honored to welcome him back for a very exciting match in his own country of Japan!
