Sucks how this fight ended first time
Askren had his hands full with Sapo!
Sapo is no joke!

Cannot wait for this rematch. Sapo has a good shot of taking the belt based on this first fight. Glad this one is booked.

I still predict Askren dominating Sapo and even getting a submission finish on him. I don't think it will last long.

Same.
I think Askren just made the mistake of thinking their first fight would be a walk in the park.

I am not sleeping on Sapo.
I actually think Sapo has more room to improve in his preparation.
I don't think Askren took him lightly and that's an explanation.

Me neither. Sapo was putting an ass whooping on Askren so I will not underestimate him in a rematch. Sapo is a dangerous opponent for anyone. Askren should still be the favorite but Sapo has a shot here.

Askren is a winner. That is, he has that winner's mentality and ability to win at all times that comes from a dominating psychological mindset. Cormier and GSP are other examples of this. I just don't see him losing. Having some trouble, sure. But he is someone who always dominates and I don't see that changing until he gets old.

Yeah, Sapo was putting a whooping on Askren like I thought I would never see, up until it ended with the eye poke.

I got Sapo all the way.
Askren is getting knocked out.
Nothing against him but that's what I'm seeing.

Here's the thing, though. If Sapo gets taken down by Askren, can he get back up? Yeah, yeah, I know, Sapo stopped Askren's initial slow, telegraphed takedowns while both were fresh and untired; but, if he did get taken down: Could he get back up?

Not sure. Once Askren gets control on the ground, it's tough for anyone to do anything.

Askren is one dimensional.
I don't think he can win the fight with Sapo with a takedown.
There is a potential that he takes him down and rides out a round, but his takedown game did not work against Sapo the last time.
No, it wasn't telegraphed takedowns.
Askren is a superb wrestler who is a multi-time NCAA champion and a former Olympian.
I do not buy the notion that Askren simply took Sapo lightly.
I do expect an improved gameplan from Askren, but I expect the same from Sapo.
Sapo is very good on his feet, and he nullified Askren's takedowns last time. He is a more versatile fighter.
I am calling a Sapo knockout.
But it is a very exciting fight.

Great points. Can't wait for this fight. I'll probably have to order this event live.

I think askren was embarrassed by last showing i just see him gnp or submitting sapo.
Sapo isnt goibg to adjust much imo because he had such success.i honestly think askren overlooked sapo but will for sure have a better gamplan.

Askren's game plan never changes much. He's a wrestler first and foremost. He is such a superb wrestler that it works typically, but Sapo had an answer for his wrestling. He is not going to hang with Sapo on the feet, no way.
Askren could win with superior conditioning, if Sapo gasses. Otherwise, Sapo knocks him out standing.

His takedowns looked slow is what I mean. Even when I watched the fight, as soon as he did those takedowns I thought "slow". They weren't like his usual takedowns or GSP's, Johnson's or Cormiers where they are on the guy in flash. Something was wrong there, I felt. I felt like they were maybe his version of a spaz attack. He was just throwing the takedown out there without the proper timing or setup or whatever and hoping it stuck. If the fight went, on, I think we would have seen none of those kind of takedowns and seen the real thing.

Sapo wins by KO, or Askren wins by Sapo gassing.
It reminds me of Lawler-McCdonald (or whatever his name was).
Hopefully Sapo is doing his road work.
I am a fan of Askren. But it is Sapo's fight to win.
