Bellator 64 ratings: Event scores season-best 175,000 MTV2 viewers

This past weekend's Bellator 64 event drew 175,000 MTV2 viewers, which matches the biggest audience of the current sixth season.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed the figures with industry sources.

The April 6 broadcast matched Bellator 62, which also scored 175,000 viewers. Bellator 64 also gave the organization a 25 percent ratings increase from Bellator 63, which drew 140,000 viewers a week earlier.

Bellator 64 took place at The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Spike.com-streamed prelims preceded the night's MTV2 broadcast.

Bellator 64 featured Ben Askren's successful and dominant welterweight-title defense over Douglas Lima. The event also included a featherweight-tourney semifinal of Marlon Sandro vs. Alexandre Bezerra. Additionally, the season-six bantamweight tourney kicked off with Travis Marx vs. Masakatsu Ueda and Hiroshi Nakamura vs. Rodigo Lima

Bellator's usual Friday-night competition, "The Ultimate Fighter: Live" on FX, saw a season and series low 947,000 viewers.

To date, MTV2 has aired 30 Bellator events. None of the season-six events has matched the averages from Bellator's first three seasons on MTV2.

Awesome to see their ratings go up. Bellator is sweet. I hope their ratings continue to rise. Plus these figures don't include EPIX, Bellator.com, and Spike.com viewers.

As soon as they get on spike the ratings should be more higher then they have been.

lol, wow. That is just plain pathetic for a show on FOX. I wouldn't be shocked if FOX canceled the show if things do not improve.

I hope their ratings stay that low on Spike and they go out of business soon.
