Bellator MMA has announced the next event in the European Fight Series will take place in Birmingham on Saturday, May 4 at the Resorts World Arena.

The event will be headlined by an exciting lightweight bout between former Bellator world champion Brent Primus (8-1) and Tim "The Experiment" Wilde (12-3) and will be the second instalment of six scheduled Bellator European Fight Series events set to take place throughout the UK and Europe in 2019.

American fighter Primus (8-1), who fights out of Eugene, Oregon, has a near-perfect record. Making his professional MMA debut in September 2010, Primus enjoyed an eight-fight undefeated streak, including six successive wins under Bellator and earning the world title with a win over current titleholder Michael Chandler. Primus is aiming to get back on track and rediscover the formidable skill which saw him make such an impressive start to his career.

Wilde (12-3) meanwhile, who fights out of Cannock, will make his Bellator debut on the night and will be looking to put on a show in front of an expectant Birmingham crowd. Wilde who joins Bellator MMA from Golden Ticket Fight Promotions, is currently enjoying a three-fight win streak and will be looking to make that four on the bounce when he steps into the Bellator cage for the first time. The former BAMMA and Cage Warriors veteran, known for his explosive striking style, has six knockout victories to his name during his career.

Bellator MMA confirmed that Sunderland's very own Ryan "Big Baby" Scope (10-2) will face American Derek "The Stallion" Campos (19-8) in the co-main event at Bellator Birmingham: Primus vs. Wilde.

The event is the second in the Bellator 2019 European Fight Series and the announcement comes after a number of top British and Irish mixed martial arts prospects were added to the card last week including Saul "The Hangman" Rogers, Brian "The Pikeman" Mooreand Dominique "The Black Panther" Wooding.

Lightweight prospect Ryan Scope, who fights out of Sunderland, U.K. will be looking to claim his first win for the Bellator promotion. Scope will fight for the first time since suffering a narrow split-decision loss against perennial Bellator contender Patricky "Pitbull" Freire in his last outing in the main event at Bellator Newcastle: Pitbull vs. Scope.

Standing in Scope's way is the experienced Derek Campos, who fights out of Lubbock, Texas. "The Stallion," who signed for Bellator in 2012, will be looking to claim his 20th professional MMA victory when he takes on Scope, as he bids to end to his current two fight losing streak. Campos, who has been a professional since 2009 making 14 appearances for the Bellator promotion, will make his first professional appearance outside the U.S.A when he enters the cage in Birmingham on May 4th.
