“The American Gangster” Chael Sonnen (30-16-1) will take on Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida (25-8) in a light heavyweight bout at MSG June 14

Machida is coming off a successful Bellator debut. He took on former Bellator middleweight champion Rafael Carvalho back in Dec. 2018. “The Dragon” walked out of the bout with a split decision victory. He’s now on a three-fight winning streak and hasn’t suffered a loss since Oct. 2017.

As for Sonnen, he’ll be looking to rebound when he meets Machida. Sonnen participated in the Bellator Heavyweight World Grand Prix. While he earned a unanimous decision victory over Quinton Jackson in the opening round, he couldn’t get past Fedor Emelianenko in the semifinals.

Machida should pick him apart.

Sonnen is building career by fighting out of prime fighters that would pick him apart in prime (Shogun, Rampage, Wanderlei)

When Sonnen was talking bad about Machida he was not good enough to hold towel to Machida but I see him being victorious because Machida is old and out of prime. Sonnen will get one more victory over a guy he would got wrecked in past.

Nice pick. I am sticking with Machida but wouldn't be shocked if Sonnen pulls it out. It's an interesting match.

Yeah, it would be cool either way. Would love to see Gooch with both belts on his shoulders though.

Two things
1 that won't happen the ufc will not risk it because they know their champion has much of a chance losing as the Bellator champion.

2 unsurprisingly ufc rejects no competition etc waste of time ... I don't know why they are against it I mean The ufc champions should tear right through everyone ... Right ?? .

At this point, it's hard to argue. I don't know who is better. Cejudo is talented but he won a vacant title, Cruz is pretty much done, and Dillashaw is suspended.

Mighty mouse is no longer the champion Adriano Moraes is also up there and so is kairat Akhmetov.

OIt is also shows the competition isn't any"easier" in either Asia or North America it is dependent on the fighter I know I know it will take a few years for them to work it out.

As for Caldwell I would like. See him move up to the feather weight or even light weight.

Rena needs to work on her mma grappling otherwise opponents will exploit that weakness.
