Will Brooks (20-4-1) is set for his first fight of 2019, as the former Bellator lightweight champion will take on UFC veteran Abel Trujillo (15-8) at Battlefield FC 2 on July 27.
Brooks, a former Bellator lightweight champion, made a well-publicized jump to the UFC back in 2016, with a win over Ross Pearson. His success there would be short lived however, and he was released on the back of three straight stoppage losses over the next year-and-a-half. Brooks then found a home in the newly re-branded Pro Fighters League (formerly the WSOF). He went 2-0 over the course of the 2018 season, getting eliminated from the playoffs on a draw to fellow UFC vet Rashid Magomedov.
His opponent, Trujillo, has been out of competition since a pair of 2017 losses to James Vick and John Makdessi. The former UFC lightweight went 6-4 (1 NC) in his five years with the promotion, including a KO of the Year contender over Jamie Varner. He also gained infamy as a notable exception to the UFC’s supposed ‘zero tolerance’ policy for domestic abusers, having twice pleaded guilty to charges.

Abel Trujillo has withdrawn from Battlefield FC 2. But the Korean promotion wasted no time in finding an experienced replacement with UFC veteran Gleison Tibau now slated to face off against Will Brooks in Macau.
Tibau (33-14) holds the most wins in the history of the UFC lightweight division. He has been in with the likes of Nick Diaz, Rafael Dos Anjos, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson.
In 2015 he beat Trujillo but the win was overturned due to a failed drug test. Since being released from the UFC the Brazilian has only competed in MMA once, beating Efrain Escudero by decision on Golden Boy’s MMA card.

That julio Neves even though most Are cans/journey man fighters to be 34-1 is Still impressive not many people Go 34-1 in mma .
Well for Bellator fighters at least. On Julio yes cans but it does also build your experience take Aaron Pico I mean yes prospect but in reality he should of started in regional promotions before going to Bellator aj junior is the acceptation not the norm.
