Rizin 19 - Lightweight GP 1st Round - October 12 (OFFICIAL DISCUSSION)

RIZIN Fighting World GP 2019 will kick off on October 12, at the Edion Arena in Osaka.
Nobuyuki Sakakibara announced the 8 participants for the GP.

Patricky Pitbull Freire (21-8), Johnny Case (26-6-1), Luiz Gustavo (9-1), Tatsuya
Kawajiri (37-13-2), Tofiq Musaev (15-3), Roberto de Souza (9-0), Damien Brown (19-12)
and Hiroto Uesako (16-7).

The matchups for the opening rounds are yet to be determined, however a drawing is
scheduled next week. RIZIN will announce further details later.

RIZIN Light Heavyweight Champion Jiri Prochazka (24-3-1) will be making his first
appearance after capturing the title after beating King Mo, and will be taking on
Brazilian striker Fabio Maldonado (25-13).

UFC veteran Keita Nakamura (34-10-2) will be making his RIZIN debut against BJJ
specialist Marcos Souza (8-1), who is Satoshi’s big brother. CEO Sakakibara mentioned
that RIZIN will be looking to build the welterweight division in a longer run.

After a shocking loss at the Madison Square Garden in June, Rena Kubota (8-3) makes
her return against Canadian striker Shawna Ram (1-0).

Jiri in my opinion belongs in the top 10 (I don't give a shit what people say )
Rena definitely needs to work on her grappling wrestling game otherwise all her opponent's will use that weakness against her .

A rematch between Kyoji Horiguchi and Kai Asakura it should be with the belt on the line either way Is good if kai wins again you have a new bonafide Super Star plus he can also possibly fight in Bellator in a GP or for the belt . If kyoji wins well You have a trilogy with the 3rd fight should Be in Bellator for the Bellator belt.

A welterweight and a Middle Wright grand prix I would like to see next.

Rena has a new opponent just five days before Rizin 19 in Osaka, Japan. Originally booked to face Shawna Ram, Kubota now faces Alexandra Alvare, Rizin president Nobuyuki Sakakibara announced.
