I agree, but the ref moved in like he was going to stop the fight and then backed away. Kind of a shitty deal for Tsarev but he wasn't going to win anyway.

I only watched it in the gif, but yeah, there was. The view was clear enough from the gif . Definitely there was an eye poke.

Unquestionably an eye poke.

Either that, or you have to argue that he was lying to the ref in an attempt to buy a break. Quite a stretch in this kind of situation.

Aside from that, in the gif above you can very clearly see the poke.
