'King Mo' Lawal meets Przemyslaw Mysiala in Bellator 86 tourney fight

Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal (8-1 MMA, 0-0 BFC) will meet fellow promotional newcomer Przemyslaw Mysiala (16-7 MMA, 0-0 BFC) at Bellator 86, officials today announced.

It's an opening-round matchup in Bellator's eight-man Season 8 light-heavyweight tournament.

As announced Tuesday, the event takes place at WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Okla. Like all events in 2013, the main card airs on Spike TV.

Lawal was a recent high-profile signing for Bellator, which will loan out the fighter to TNA Wrestling. The former Strikeforce champion split with the organization earlier this year after a failed drug test and Lawal's feud with the Nevada State Athletic Commission. To date his only career loss came to Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante, which ended Lawal's title run in the organization.

Mysiala, a Polish fighter, was on a recent 6-1 run before a loss to Jason Jone at BAMMA 9 back in March. A veteran of the European fight circuit, the London-based Mysiala has registered 15 stoppages (including nine submissions) in 16 career wins.

The latest Bellator 86 card now includes:

Champ Ben Askren vs. Karl Amousson - for welterweight title
Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal vs. Przemyslaw Mysiala - light-heavyweight-tournament opening round
Ben Saunders vs. TBA - welterweight-tournament opening round
Douglas Lima vs. TBA - welterweight-tournament opening round

Wow, Bellator is pulling out all the stops for these tournaments. I expected a decent field but this is just turning out to be fantastic.

johan....not worthy to root for the underdog, as fans we want to see the best fighters in the finals and fighting for the title...

It will be great to see King Mo in the Bellator cage. Really looking forward to it.

It has been a while since he fought and was injured so there may be some ring rust.

They are prob. giving him what they think is the easiest opponent in the tournament to get back in gear but you never know in MMA. Hell, an unknown named Soko KO'd Lil Nog and Arona back to back at one time.

Yeah, Mysiala doesn't stand too much of a chance. He lost to a fairly one dimensional fighter in Jason Jones. King Mo's power and high level wrestling is going to cause major problems for him.

Then again, who knows how rusty Mo might look.

Speaking of Jason Jones, I wonder if he will end up with DREAM or on future ONE FC events. He is a GLORY fighter.

He should, I don't think he has anything exclusive with BAMMA. It'd be nice to see him up against guys like Izumi, Nakanishi, Mizuno, and Sokoudjou.

Yeah, he seems like a solid LHW contender for future DREAM/ONE FC events. He just got a decision over Mizuno about two months ago but an Izumi fight to start out would be good and possibly Soko after that. If he gets by both of them, a fight with Nakanishi would be great.

I forgot they fought at a Glory event this year. I think it's inevitable that Jones will be on some DREAM cards then.

I'm really hopeful for what Glory can do with this partnership. Especially what they're capable of with 170 and above. Kharitonov should be a lock next year, Le Banner might make a jump to MMA full time, could even see Schilt take an MMA fight or two.

A LHW division with Jones, Nakanishi, Sokoudjou, Izumi, Stringer, Kamanishi, Niimura, and Mizuno would be killer.

I think you could also expect a Depret/Sato fight soon too.

This partnership between GLORY, DREAM, and ONE FC could be amazing and their feeder promotions are solid to boot.

I've been wanting to see Schilt back in MMA ever since he started dominating K-1. Would be great if they could get him some good MMA fights.

I agree, Sergei will be back for sure.

Full time MMA for JLB would be great. Still hoping for that Sylvia fight after all these years.

Jones, Nakanishi, Kamanishi,... would be a solid start to a DREAM LHW division.

Really hoping DREAM can pull Sato into DREAM.
