Cage Warriors 51 weigh-in results: Headliners Buchinger, McGregor official
Sun Dec 30, 2012 6:55 pm
Headliners Ivan Buchinger (155) and Conor McGregor (155) are on weight for Monday's Cage Warriors 51 headliner, where the pair will compete for Cage Warriors' vacant lightweight title.
In fact, after a few initial concerns, all 16 fighters hit the required mark for their respective matchups.
McGregor initially weighed 155.4 pounds, but he needed just 10 additional minutes to cut the remaining weight and register right on the lightweight division's limit. Additionally, main-card fighters Jack Mason and Paul Redmond each were less than one pound heavy in their first trip to the scale, but both quickly cut the necessary weight in short order and made their fights official on a second attempt.
Monday's Cage Warriors 51 event, which takes place New Year's Eve at The Helix in Dublin, streams live and free worldwide on MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) beginning at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT (9 p.m. GMT local time).
In addition to the night's headlining matchup, a second championship belt will also be on the line at Cage Warriors 51 as middleweight champ Chris Fields meets "The Ultimate Fighter 7" cast member Jesse Taylor.
