Full Contact Championship 8 set for Goa India on February 3rd

Full Contact Championship, India’s longest running MMA Promotion, comes back this 3rd of February 2013 with their eighth event which takes place at Vagator Beach in Goa. This will be the first time that Goa will experience live MMA with some of India’s best MMA Fighters flying in from all over the country to participate

FCC 8 will be showcased as part of the India Bike Week, a two day festival that takes place in Goa on the 2nd and 3rd of Feb. Sponsored by Harley Davidson, and with FOX TV as the official Television partner, this festival, along with FCC 8 will be packaged into a three hour programme, and aired all over Asia.

FCC 8 on the 3rd of Feb promises to be an exciting evening, with a promising line up of fighters. There are eight explosive bouts with some of the big names like Aditya Deshpande, Gaurav Pandey, Sangram Bhakre, Nitin Gaikwad and Vishal Balkawde participating as well as some talented debutants.

Rahul Jadhav and Harshad Sadgir both make their MMA Debuts at FCC 8 and should pose a serious threat to their more experienced opponents, Sangram Bhakre and Gaurav Pandey. Both Jadhav and Sadgir are experienced Desi Kushti Wrestlers who have won gold medals at a national level.

BOUT 1. 60kgs : SAGAR KADU VS NADEEM FAROOQI :

SAGAR KADU: Stands at 5ft 5in tall. He is a Mixed Martial Arts expert. Sagar weighs in at 60 kgs. Sagar has been a National Kickboxing Gold Medallist, State Level Wrestling Gold Medallist, and a National Karate Champion. One of the most popular fighters on the circuit, Sagar is a lawyer by day, and a fighter by night. He comes into FCC 8 with an MMA Record of 3-1-0 having suffered his only loss to Aditya Deshpande in FCC 7 via Rear Naked Choke. He is very eager to win his next Bout and prove himself again. NADEEM FAROOQI : Stands at 5ft 5in tall. He opened his career, fighting at 65kgs. He has dropped a weight class, and now fights at 60 kgs. Making an impressive debut by winning his opening bout via unanimous decision, this Jiu Jitsu expert suffered his first career loss to Kolhapur Wrestler Tanaji Patil in FCC 7. Nadeem comes into FCC 8 with an MMA Record of 1-1-0 with one win and one loss. Nadeem’s Fight Style is Grappling

BOUT 2. 60kgs : ADITYA DESHPANDE VS SURYA PRASAD :

ADITYA DESHPANDE: Stands at 5ft 8in tall. He weighs in at 60 kgs. Aditya comes into FCC 8 with an unbeaten MMA Record of 3-0-0. A very determined fighter, Aditya is a Judo expert, who has also been training in Kickboxing. His goals are clear, and his target is fixed. He is going to come out aggressively against any opponent he faces. Aditya is always confident that he can win. His Fight Style is MMA

SURYA PRASAD: Stands at 5ft 5in tall. He weighs in at 60kgs He hails from Maharashtra. This boy is a former street fighter, who has taken to MMA with obsession. A very aggressive fighter, he wants to release his aggression in the ring. Surya makes his debut in FCC 8 and is up against the more experienced Aditya Deshpande. A great stand up fighter, Surya possesses a lot of power in his kicks and punches. He is not at all intimidated by Aditya’s unbeaten MMA Record and is looking forward to the Bout. BOUT 3. 65kgs: SANGRAM “SLAMMER” BHAKRE VS RAHUL JADHAV :

SANGRAM ” SLAMMER” BHAKRE: Stands at 5ft 8in tall. He weighs in at 65kgs. Famous for his signature move of slamming his opponents to the mat before finishing the fight, he comes into FCC 8 with an unbeaten MMA Record of 4-0-0. A Desi Kushti Wrestler from Kolhapur, Sangram has also been a National Kickboxing Gold Medallist. A strong force to reckon with, his skills will be put to test against another Desi Kushti Wrestler in FCC 8. Slammer’s Fight Style is MMA

RAHUL JADHAV: Stands at 5ft 8in tall. He weighs in at 65kgs. A State Level Wrestling Gold Medallist, this Desi Kushti Wrestler makes his MMA Debut in FCC 8 and is looking forward to his Bout with Slammer, as he feels that he can negate Slammer’s moves with his superior Wrestling skills, and hand over Slammer’s first loss to him. BOUT 4. 75kgs : GAURAV ” JUDO” PANDEY VS HARSHAD SADGIR :

GAURAV ” JUDO” PANDEY: Stands at 5ft 11in tall. He weighs in at 75kgs. One of the most popular fighters on the circuit, Gaurav has come into prominence after making quick work of Psycho Sathe within a minute of the first round in FCC 6. Gaurav is a Judo expert, and has also become popular for his Slams, and vicious Ground’n'Pound. He has finished his last 2 opponents quickly in the first round of the fights. He comes into FCC 8 with an unbeaten MMA Record of 3-0-0 taking on a Kolhapur wrestler. Judo’s Fight Style is MMA

HARSHAD SADGIR: Stands at 6ft even. He weighs in at 75kgs. A National Level Wrestling Gold Medallist, he makes his MMA Debut in FCC 8. A Desi Kushti Wrestler, Harshad is famous for the tremendous strength that he possesses, and could be a serious threat to Gaurav. BOUT 5. 85kgs: ALFAAN ” THE HITMAN” HASHMI VS DEEPAK PATIL :

ALFAAN ” THE HITMAN” HASHMI: Stands at 6ft 1in tall. He weighs in at 85kgs. Originally a street fighter, Alfan has given up his wayward ways and is a focussed MMA athlete today. Alfaan made an impressive start to his career in FCC 5. But his confidence took a little bit of a beating after he lost a TKO (Doctor Stoppage) decision to the much more experienced Nitin Gaikwad in FCC 6. DEEPAK PATIL: Stands at 5ft 11in tall. He weighs in at 85kgs. Deepak makes his MMA Debut in FCC 8. A State Boxing Silver Medallist, Deepak is also a WuShu practitioner, having participated at the National Level. A well rounded fighter, he is here to make a mark. Deepak’s Fight Style is Boxing

BOUT 6. 85kgs. NTIN ” THE SPARTAN” GAIKWAD VS MUKESH DEGDA:

NITIN ” THE SPARTAN” GAIKWAD: Stands at 5ft 10in tall. He weighs in at 85kgs. A National Kickboxing Gold Medallist, a National Wu Shu Silver Medallist, a State Boxing Gold Medallist, and a District level Wrestling Gold Medallist, having trained in the Akharas at Kolhapur, Nitin is one of the most experienced fighters from the FCC camp. More famous for breaking noses and busting eyes, and an MMA Record of 3-1-0, he comes into FCC 8 with a lot of confidence and experience. Nitin’s Fight Style is MMA

MUKESH DEGDA: Stands at 6ft even. He weighs in at 85kgs. He makes his MMA Debut against the very experienced Nitin Gaikwad. A National Kickboxing Gold Medallist, a State Boxing Silver Medallist and a State WuShu Gold Medallist, Mukesh is confident he can win his debut fight. Mukesh’s Fight Style is Kickboxing

BOUT 7. 95kgs: EDDIE TEEL VS SHER KHAN :

EDDIE TEEL : Stands at 6feet 6inches tall. . He hails from the United States of America. Having made not so impressive a start, he lost his debut MMA Bout to Vishal Balkawde via Rear Naked Choke. Hungry to prove himself, and shut up the critics, Eddie is all geared up to win his next fight, and prove himself in the ring. He weighs in at 90 kgs. Eddie’s Fight Style is MMA

SHER KHAN: More popularly referred to as “SHERA” stands at 6ft 1in tall. He weighs in at 93kgs. Shera comes into FCC 8 with an MMA Record of 1-0-0 with one win and no loss. A powerhouse, Shera likes to bulldoze his opponents with sheer strength. Shera takes on the American Eddie Teel in the 2nd fight of his career, and plans to bulldoze him. Shera’s Fight Style is MMA

BOUT 8. 95kgs: VISHAL BALKAWDE VS ( To Be Announced) :

VISHAL BALKAWDE: Stands at 6ft even. He weighs in at 95 kgs. Vishal has been a National Judo Gold Medallist, a National Wrestling Gold Medallist, and International Jiu Jitsu Gold Medallist, having won a Gold Medal in the year 2007 at the prestigious ADCC ( Abu Dhabi Combat Club) tournament. He made an impressive Debut in FCC 7 with a submission win over the much bigger Eddie Teel. A fighter who could easily be the face of Indian MMA , he comes into FCC 8 with a Record of 1-0-0.
