75% of the Bellator light heavyweight tournament opening round went down tonight, here's the recap... Scaryrussian

Bellator finally debuted on Spike and they did it in style. Two title fights and 3 out of the four light heavyweight tournament opening round fights, you say? Yes. Yes, we will deem that unequivocally baller. We've compiled the light heavyweight coverage into this article like a delicious light heavyweight burrito, oozing with .gifs and tweets. Let's jump into that burrito now.

First off: damn, Babalu. Damn. After spending most of the first round stifling Mikhail Zayats' offense by placing him firmly against the cage, Babalu got his bell rung with a brutal spinning backfist that left him stumbling and into a situation where his head would be rung like a bell about a dozen more times. Consider Mikhail Zayats the hunchback of Notre Dame he rang so many bells in Babalu's head, and his girlfriend is real. Babalu wasn't looking bad at all, in fact he connected on a few good strikes and was controlling the first round well, but as Eddie Alvarez and his wife say...

In the other two light heavyweight tournament bouts, Emanuel Newton pretty much bowled over Atanas Djambazov for roughly seven minutes and twenty one seconds until Newton decided to sink in a rear naked choke. Jay and Silent Bob were more than likely pleased.

Finally, Kimbo-killer Seth Petruzelli took on Wesley Little-killer Jacob Noe. All seemed well and Seth Petruzelli was attempting to impose his will on Jacob Noe, despite Noe's length advantage. Eventually, Seth shoots in, and something unfortunate happens to his knee (possibly?) and the fight takes a turn for the Noe.

So at the end of Bellator's Spike debut we have Jacob Noe, Mikhail Zayats and Emanuel Newton, waiting for King Mo and the nearly unpronounceable Przemyslaw Mysiala.

LHWs delivered some exciting fights yesterday. King Mo will be a tough test for all though. I think we will be seeing a Vegh vs. Mo title fight in the near future.
