I just think Cormier lands a high percentage of strikes and works the body quite well, which is why I rate him so highly.
Werdum still doesn't have that great of boxing but is still much improved. He does have a fantastic Muay Thai game nowadays, or at least where the plum is concerned.

Cain's striking defense is pretty poor too, technically speaking, though. Keeps his chin way too high.
Cormier does a pretty good job keeping his chin tucked and staying evasive. Cain can brawl pretty well, though.
