I'd like to see Ivlev take the belt.

GP semis are going to be good.  Going with Malikov to win the tournament.

Malikov vs Smoldarev in the finals, and I think Marat will retain the belt.

Russian mixed martial arts veteran Yuri Ivlev ( Legion ), 18-7 passes from lightweight to featherweight and becomes a contender for a title shot against reigning champion Marat Gafurova ( Fighting Eagle ), 7-0  



The battle between the former teammates will take place at the upcoming M-1 Challenge, which may take place in August. We are currently negotiating on the venue and exact date of the tournament. Follow the information on our site.

Love the gp semis can't wait card is looking good already.

Ka is going to be a tough fight for Malikov, but he really proved a lot against Monson.

 Agreed..This should be a good one.  Going with Malikov still though to take the whole GP although these GPs are often hard to predict.

I wish they would have the finals the same day.

This year's main event will be a featherweight title fight between champion defending champion Marat Gafurov ( Fighting Eagle ), 7-0 and challenger Yuri Ivlev ( Legion ), 18-7, and the semifinal fights M-1 Grand Prix of 2013.

Magomed Malikov will not be able to take part in the tournament M-1 Challenge 41 , is being held because the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and after it he will not have enough time to prepare for the fight, which was scheduled for August 21. By mutual agreement, guidance M-1 Global and the swordsman he leaves composition of the M-1 Grand Prix in 2013 and will return to the ring in full readiness to fall

Very unfortunate and I wish M-1 could reschedule, but very understandable. I predicted a Malikov vs Smoldarev final.. so it looks like Denis is gonna take this one.

tybura is 7-0 and beat dennis komkin to become the alternate of the gp...

My Smoldarev prediction is looking real good.

Tybura is a very good prospect and many people thought he should have been in the GP from the beginning.

Ka is going.to.smother Tybura to death.

My original pick was Malikov but I think.the grappling.of Ka gets him the tournament.

That's a bummer, he beats the favorite and then can't compete! I wish M-1 would've had the quarter-finals and semis in the same night, I hate when tournaments get drug out sometimes.

I wouldn´t mind a one night GP with 1 or 2 round fights.

That's some bad news.  GP was going off great too.  There goes my pick.  I hope the GP winner fights Garner for the belt and Malikov is then first in line after that.
