Legend FC champion Yusuke Kawanago to Go with the Pancrase and WSOF: World Series of Fighting Alliance
Twitter @Daniel Fletcher
A face, name and features familiar to the fans and followers of South-East Asian fightsport; Yusuke Kawanago has competed against the likes of Mark STUNNING Striegl, Xi Jian and “Ruthless” Rob Lisita, beaten the latter two, and claimed a Legend Fighting Championship featherweight belt with which to adorn his waist.
Alas; all things come to pass; as the sun sets it falls; as the wave breaks and laps the shore it rolls back, and Legend FC – formerly a formidable foe to the bigger promotions of the continent – is no more.
But the exquisite news that breaks here in the cloud’s silver lining is as follows; Pancrase and World Series of Fighting will ally in an American-Japanese coming together – nuclear holocausts (plural) be damned – the likes of which we could and should have seen prior with the UFC and Pancrase in 1993-97, and PRIDE and the UFC from 1997-2007 – alas, we did not.
But now, the doors have opened and the talent sharing business is about to begin! And cousin; business is a’boomin‘.
Legend FC champion “Bancho” Kawanago opens the floodgates: Pancrase and WSOF to pick up free agents!

Legend were an enjoyable product; Kawanago himself contributed massively to their disputedly 2012 Fight of the Year, with the always thrilling RUTHLESS Rob Lisita in a barnburning, riproaring malfunction at the junction in Hong Kong.
Equally impressive, his victory over the quite unheralded Chinese talent Jian Xi, who later earned Legend gold himself and could well be a force to be reckoned with.
Kawanago, as with all other Legend FC champions and challengers, was a free agent; now picked up by his former family in Pancrase, he now has an outlet with a major-league American org, and could potentially open the floodgates for similar signings to come.

If WSOF are just going to conquer Pancrase, the least they could do was get ISAO.
