It appears that former UFC fighter Will Chope has wasted little time in booking his first fight since receiving his walking papers from the organization. He is expected to meet Canada's Jeremy Kennedy at Pacific Rim Organized FC's ninth event in May.

MMASucka.com broke the news on Thursday evening.

The California-based Chope went 0-1 in his short run with the UFC, losing an entertaining contest to Max Holloway back at UFC Fight Night:Saffiedine vs Lim. He was slated to face fellow featherweight Diego Brandao two weeks ago in Brazil, but was released from the organization shortly after weighing in. The UFC's decision to suddenly release Chope stems from a Bleacher Report article that detailed his troubled past with domestic violence as well as his dismissal from the Air Force in 2009.

While Chope had released a video alongside his ex-wife, where he answered several questions regarding the aforementioned incidents, as well as urged the UFC to reconsider his release. Since that is not likely to happen, at least in the near future, Chope has chosen to return to the Taiwan-based PRO FC.

The 23-year-old has fought four times for PRO FC to date, and holds a 3-1 record, losing only his first fight with the organization.

British Columbia's Jeremy Kennedy is undefeated since making his pro debut lasts June, and is coming off consecutive knockouts in his last two fights. He will be making his PRO FC debut when he meets Chope in May.

PRO FC 9 is scheduled to take place May 25, at the Luxy Contemporary Nightlife Complex in Taipei, Taiwan.
