I don't see a problem with an occasional freak show fight and legends fight if they help ratings. I don't like them getting rid of Volkov and Sarnavskiy though. The match making needs some improvement.

I love Shamrock vs Gracie III. Don't really care about Kimbo but he gets high ratings. Having fights like this which bring in tons of eyes mixed with fights involving up and coming prospects is the way to go. You guys can complain all you want but cards like this bring in the biggest ratings for them.

Seriously, Bellator got worse than UFC in a matter of months..... How the fuck did that happen. Im not exactly a coker fan, but the dude was really good at matchmaking and promoting in SF what the hell happened to the guys logic?

Its like since he went to Bellator hes not the same person. I remember how SF had competitive fights with exciting Ko/subs every card they put. I had high hopes for Coker with Bellator , RIP

Its american audience own fault though...if kimbo vs ken and titovs bonnar were failures we wouldnt be getting douchebag 5000 lol,but they both shattered records.

I enjoyed last nights fights and matchmaking im hoping for more cards like that ....only thing i can say is be patient.

Strikeforce was a geezer party but slowly the talent got recognized and things evolved....lets hope for the same.

I love this much more than watching some UFC washouts.

PRIDE put on freakshow fights as well because they are good for casual fans (they help ratings and attendance and profits).  If the occasional legend and freakshow fights sell, like they did in the PRIDE model, let it be.  PRIDE also put on the best fights with the best fighters in MMA history.  The freakshows and legend fights are more part of the entertainment aspect of the sport.  Not a big deal and they have been a part of the sport from the beginning.

They are a tv show so a ratings ploy is ok but they must retain some aspect of being the #2 mma company by the way they structure a card.

Strikeforce was fucking awesome, the freakshow fights werent 60y old men and niggas from Youtube..... no comparison there imo

Great points fka. You are right. They should not be main events and should not be this frequent.

I think the Gracie/Shamrock event will do good ratings. I think a lot of fans will tune in for that. Not sure what the number will be.

Tank abbott vs paul buentello was headliner.

Other fighters featured on early cards were vernon white,paul buentello,eugene jackson,Tony fryklund,Bobby southworth,Falinko vitale,Maurice smith,bill mahood,Jan nortje,bob sapp,Tiki ghosn,Drew fickett etc....just saying using known names even though they were aged isn't something new.

People only remember the gp and later on the stacked hw division and homegrown talent but dont remember the early growing pains that i do.

True, and many of those Shamrock fights were very entertaining. He was pretty solid for his comeback until Cung Le broke his arm with that kick.

Tank abbott vs Buenetello yea, but Frank Shamrock was still decent as a fighter and yea those fights were fun to watch and competitive common

My point being is strikeforce was the shit....but it didnt start that way.

Bellator is still growing im not a fan of this card but acting like strikeforce didnt doit and rizin isnt going to doit is crazy.
