Meathead was top 15 in ufc during his release he was 12 or 11 this fight represents a huge step up in recent competition and would be the equivalent of an mma math believers ufc debut or ufc level hw.

Be great if Fedor gets the win in spectacular fashion I reckon if he does he might end up fighting for the belt next year . Yep the Fedor haters are out in force but this nothing new still parroting the same shit . But any way yes depending on what happens we might see Fedor fighting for the belt .

The Fedor haters will always be there, no matter who he fights. Same old from them.

Coker said that originally the company was going to fill its vacant heavyweight championship at the next San Jose show, but when they were able to finalize this deal, that has been put on hold. Vitaly Minakov was Bellator's last heavyweight champion, but hasn't fought with the promotion since April, 2014, after a contract dispute.

"We were going to have a bunch of heavyweight fights, but this fight was the No. 1 priority. We'll probably push it (the crowning of a new heavyweight champion) until the summertime. It would be really nice to do it here (in San Jose), or in the U.S,. or even Europe to crown our heavyweight champion at some point."

Thanks for the update. Summertime is a bit of a wait but I can see why making this fight was higher priority for them.

if all goes to plan we might see fedor as the heavy weight champ be a great career resurgence for him if he wins the belt .

Good fight. If Thomson wins it sounded like he will be fighting Chandler for the belt based on what Jimmie Smith said during the Bellator event yesterday.

Josh Koscheck (17-10) will make his Bellator debut on February 18 at Bellator 172 against Mauricio Alonso (12-7), Bellator has also announced a middleweight bout between Anatoly Tokov and Francisco France has been added to Bellator 172 preliminary card.

Also, Adam Piccolotti is out of Bellator 172 due to an undisclosed injury. Was scheduled to fight Brent Primus
