It would be a real big win for him and definite top contender for title shot. Sergei too. Would like to see Minakov back in this picture as well. That was a big hit to their HW division.

Bellator isn't in a ratings slump as they just got 708,000 viewers including +3s for Bellator 159. In fact, Bellator 156 is the only show this year that has gone below 600,000 views including +3s. They also average 817.000.

A bantamweight showdown pitting Joe Warren (13-5) against Sirwan Kakai (12-4) has been added to the main card of "Bellator 161 .

The bantamweight contest joins a heavyweight main event featuring Cheick Kongo (24-10-2) taking on Tony Johnson (10-2), and the U.S. debut of Anastasia Yankova (3-0), who meets Veta Arteaga (2-0). Additional contests will be announced in the coming weeks.

A 15-fight veteran of Bellator MMA and champion in not one but two different weight classes, Warren enters the cage with an 11-4 mark under the Scott Coker-led promotion, including multiple streaks of five consecutive wins. Dating back to 2015, the 2006 Pan American and World Champion wrestler has made three consecutive appearances in Bellator's main event, including an impressive unanimous decision victory over L.C. Davis at "Bellator 143: Warren vs. Davis." Hailing from Denver, Colorado, the "Baddest Man on the Planet" will look to become the first-ever fighter to knock out Kakai when the two meet in main card action on SPIKE.

Nicknamed "Zohan," Kakai comes into the fight in search of his first career win under the Bellator MMA banner. At just 26 years of age, the Swedish submission specialist hopes to make a splash against the former two-division champion in Warren. Since making his professional debut in 2008, Kakai has recorded 12 wins as a pro, with half coming by way of submission. Prior to joining the Bellator MMA fray, Kakai made a splash fighting under the direction of the UFC, recording a unanimous decision victory over Danny Martinez in his promotional debut. Kakai now faces one of the most challenging opponents.

A lightweight bout pitting Derek Campos (16-6) against knockout specialist Djamil Chan (13-2) has been added to the SPIKE-televised portion of Bellator 161.

Hailing from Lubbock, Texas, 28-year-old Campos returns home to face one of Bellator MMA's top young lightweights. The well-rounded Campos enters the bout with 16 career wins under his belt, including five knockouts and five submissions. Of his five career KO's, "The Stallion" most recently took down MMA veteran Melvin Guillard with a second-round finish at the record-breaking "Bellator 149: Shamrock vs. Gracie" event in Houston earlier this year. Campos will look to build off of his impressive finish when he enters the cage on September 16.

The 26-year-old Chan will challenge local hotshot Campos riding an exceptional string of seven consecutive victories dating back to 2013. During this streak Chan has recorded five knockouts, four of which occurred in the opening frame; including a first round knockout win over Richard Patishnock in his Bellator MMA debut at "Bellator 153: Koreshkov vs. Henderson." Overcoming Autism to reach this point in his career. Standing at six feet two inches, the Dutch knockout specialist will also have a noticeable height advantage over his opponent when the two take center stage at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, Texas.

This card is really good i cant wait.

Not the best card...going with Johnson he deserves to fight for the title soon if he wins, their hw division mess sucks without a champ

For basically a fight night card which is what the regular cards are for bellator this is pretty famn good.

Main and co-main are great and then you get 2 fights featuring up and comers.Yankova is fun to watch and good looking count me in lol.

The main event is a boring fight and the co main they still think joe warren is a draw in the company?

Main event features one of the rising fighters in tony johnson against a proven vet in kongo.johnson has ko power and a great clinch game i bet kongo goes to bed.

Joe warren is still a good fighter and they are trying to test kakai and see if hes worth keeping around its an intriguing fight.

I hope tony wins and they can bring minakov back to face him

^Really hope this happens. Kharitonov, Kongo, Johnson,..., are all in the mix. Tournament makes sense.

If Lashley actually gets the title shot for beating Appelt, uggggh. Should have the winner of Kongo v Johnson fight Rampage for it.
