RIZIN.16 announces RIZIN Champion Ayaka Hamasak vs Invicta Champion Jinh Yu Frey. 2017 GP Champion Tenshin Nasukawa aims to challenge the ISKA Featherweight title.

Just 10 days after finishing the first event of the year, RIZIN FIGHTING FEDERATION held a press conference confirming 6 bouts that will take place at the Kobe World Memorial Hall on June 2nd.

The announcements had several intriguing matchups, but the fight that caught the most attention was the title fight between current RIZIN Champion vs current Invicta Champion. Ayaka Hamasaki and Jinh Yu Frey have already fought 3 years ago in the Invicta cage. Hamasaki’s hand was raised due to a doctor stoppage in round 2. The two look to make a clear ending for this rematch.

Another Women’s Super Atomweight bout was confirmed between 2017 GP winner Kanna Asakura vs KID Yamamoto’s sister Miyuu Yamamoto.

RIZIN 16 will feature a guaranteed barn burner between heavyweights Roque Martinez and Jake Heun.

Erson Yamamoto will be looking to get back in the winning column by taking on Michigan’s Tim Eschtruth in a Bantamweight bout.

RIZIN 16 will feature some kickboxing bouts.

RIZIN FF announced 4 additional MMA bouts and 2 kickboxing bouts for RIZIN.16 which will take place at the Kobe World Memorial Hall on June 2nd.
 
RIZIN mainstay Darron Cruickshank will be making his promotional comeback after dropping to Damien Brown on the New Year’s Eve event. The Detroit Superstar will be taking on Azerbaijan’s uprising prospect Toriq Musaev, who made a spectacular promotional debut by dismantling Shooto Pacific rim Champion Nobumitsu Osawa. 
 
The Always entertaining Topnoi Tiger Muay Thai will also be making his promotional return against Osaka’s Yusaku Nakaura. Topnoi is coming off of a decision loss against Kai Asakura in his fight on RIZIN.13, while Nakamura’s dropped his fight in RIZIN, he has secured a knockout win in Shooto and makes his way back to the RIZIN ring.
 
2 fun fights between sluggers have also have been added to the card in Kobe.
 
Homerun swinger Mamoru “Fullswing” Uoi will be fighting the Hawaiian “One man riot” Kana Hyatt. Fullswing has won 7 of his last 10 bouts, all by knockout and has never been finished. Hyatt is a journeyman with over 30 professional fights, and win or lose, over 80% of his fights end by a finish. 
 
Shooto Rookie of the year and 2013 Shooto MVP winner Takaki Soya will be making his promotional debut against former DEEP Strawweight title challenger Namiki Kawahara. The famed Paraestra Chiba product started his career with 6 straight wins with 5 devastating knockouts and was touted as the next best Flyweight, after some twists and turns, he makes his RIZIN debut agains Osaka’s striker Namiki Kawahara. Kawahara originally fights at Strawweight, but has the ability to finish his opponents with his heavy hands. 
 
2 additional kickboxing fights were also added to the card to complete the RIZIN.16
lineup.
 
DEEP Kick Champion YUYA will be taking on Osaka’s favorite Yuki Tanaka. Shoot Boxing’s recommended Seiki Ueyama will be facing hard hitting KENGO.
 
Originally scheduled Kai Asakura was forced to withdraw due to a broken orbital bone which occurred during fight camp. Fully recovery is expected to take 2 months.

RIZIN announced the opponent for Tenshin Nasukawa’s ISKA Featherweight World Title fight. The current Champion Ahmed Ferradji withdrew from the scheduled fight on June 2nd at the Kobe World Memorial Hall. As a result ISKA has stripped the title from Ferradji and no Nasukawa will be facing current ISKA Bantamweight Champion Martin Blanco from Argentina.

ISKA Europe President Paul Hennessy released the following commen.

“I apologize to RIZIN and Tenshin Nasukawa for the sudden cancellation of Tenshin’s match with Ahmed Ferradji.

ISKA Europe recommended Ahmed Ferradji and he committed to a mandatory defense of the ISKA World Featherweight title against Tenshin Nasukawa on RIZIN 16 in Kobe 2nd June 2019.

ISKA has been forced to vacate the Featherweight World Title when now, former champion Ahmed Ferradji cancelled on short notice without a valid reason, refusing mandatory title defence against the Japanese superstar.
Argentine ISKA World Bantamweight Champion, Martin Blanco has been selected as the new opponent for Tenshin Nakukawa for the June 2nd event contesting the now vacant Featherweight World Title. Blanco said, “I am honoured. I am in great shape I intend to make the most of this opportunity and bring another world title home to
Argentina”.

I have been working with RIZIN sharing significance of kickboxing world championship at RIZIN where MMA has been promoted mainly, unexpectedly we have had to change the opponent for the ISKA Featherweight World Championship, but Blanco is a real champion with Great Spirit and he is ready to give a great performance for this world championship fight. I will be in attendance representing the ISKA at RIZIN 16 for this historic World
Championship Kickboxing match.”

Martin Blanco is a 30 year old kickboxer with an 8-1-1 record with 3 KOs. Blanco brings high paced striking exchanges to the ring with flurry of punches and various kicks from all angles. Both fighters hold the ISKA Bantamweight Title, and look to become the 2 ivision ISKA Champion.

The Rizin fighters are doing pretty good in these Champion vs champion matches I do digress though will have to see how they go fighting in their opponents promotion under the rule set they are used to.

People are still going on about the Floyd tenshin fight for fuck sake it literally Said exhibition Match it makes you Wonder if people actually read the whole thing instead of the headline?

RIZIN 16 was one of the most exciting events. Plenty of finish and good fight for the level of the event. They have announced a few matchup for the summer events: Yuki Motoya vs Hiromasa Ogikubo, Shintaro Ishiwatari vs Ulka Sasaki, Yusuke Yachi vs Mikuru Asakura.

We'll see in 2 weeks. Does he'll take the crown from Caldwell? Guch has looked unstoppable since his loss to Demetrius 4 years ago.

Gooch has looked good it hasn't been against sub par competition either.
