Paul Buentello vs. Myron Dennis title fight headlines Legacy FC 29 card

Legacy Fighting Championship 29 fight card is complete, and will be headlined by a championship fight.

Longtime MMA veteran Paul Buentello will return to the Legacy FC cage on March 21 in Tulsa, Okla, against one-time Bellator veteran Myron Dennis, Legacy FC’s president Mick Maynard confirmed to MMAFighting.com. The fight card, which will air on AXS TV, features Jonathan Brookins’ flyweight debut against Cody Fuller in the co-main event.

Buentello (33-15) last fought in Legacy FC this past August, and stopped fellow UFC veteran James McSweeney with punches in the second round. Currently riding a four-fight win streak, Buentello has victories over the likes of Gary Goodridge and Mike Kyle since his MMA debut in 1997. Dennis (9-2) earned his sixth first-round finish on Jan.18, stopping Wayne Cole.

The main card also features a pair of lightweight bouts, Chris Pecero vs. Thomas Longacre and Gilbert Burns vs. Mike Budnik, a welterweight showdown between Art Parker and Andrew Todhunter, and a featherweight match-up between Daniel Haunstein vs. Jerod Spoon.

Buentello looked real good in his 205 debut. Hope he keeps it going here and takes the belt. He has a fight in Russia coming up as well.

March’s Legacy FC 29 event will have a second title fight as UFC/WEC vet Leonard Garcia looks to make the first successful defense of his featherweight title.

Legacy FC promoter Mick Maynard told MMAjunkie that Garcia (18-11-1) will meet Shane Howell (13-7) at the event.

Legacy FC 29 takes place March 21 at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tulsa, Okla. The night’s main card airs on AXS TV.

Garcia recently won the Legacy FC belt with a first-round knockout of Kevin Aguilar at Legacy FC 26 (watch the Garcia vs. Aguilar video highlights). Since a five-fight losing streak that prompted his UFC release this past year, the fan favorite has posted three consecutive stoppage victories, all with Legacy FC.

The hard-hitting vet now meets Howell, a promotional newcomer and onetime Bellator fighter who’s on a run of his own. Since opening his record with a ho-hum 4-6 record, Howell has won nine of his past 10 fights and six straight. Eleven of his 13 career victories have come via stoppage, including seven via submission.

Yep he is looking better at lhw! M1 should bring him over to face nemkov for the title and he can continue to fight for legacy also!

buentello should have got that decision. wasnt the worst decision but buentello was robbed a bit in that one.
