With Titan FC's blessing, Ben Saunders returns to UFC

Another Titan FC fighter is headed to the UFC.

Ben Saunders was scheduled to fight Jose Landi-Jons for the inaugural Titan FC welterweight title on Aug. 22, however, that fight is now off, as Saunders, who fought for the UFC from 2007 to 2010, has agreed to return to the organization, according to Titan FC COO Lex McMahon.


Titan FC gave Saunders its blessing to head back to the UFC after Landi-Jons ran into issues securing a visa to fight in the United States, which forced him to withdraw from the bout just hours after it was announced that he would be replacing the injured Matt Riddle in the title fight.

While Titan struggled to find a suitable replacement for Landi-Jons, the UFC offered Saunders a chance to return to the promotion, and he took it. Titan's contracts have a "Zuffa clause," which allows fighters to walk away from the promotion in order to sign with the UFC, however, if a fight is within 30 days, Titan must agree to the fighter leaving the promotion, and in this case, Titan did just that.

What a joke. I understand not wanting to pick a fight with Zuffa but they shouldn't let someone who is main eventing an upcoming show just sign with someone else. To no surprise, the zombies are praising them as a company that cares about fighters. Yeah, like the zombies give a shit about the fighters. They just want every company to give all their fighters to Zuffa.

Except for Bellator North american mma is a big Zuffa feeder league. Titan, WSOF, RFA, Legacy, MFC, Invicta.. The list goes on

Like I said before europe and asia is where mma is still alright and that´s where our focus should be.

I agree Stu. Look at Nate Diaz, he wants out of the UFC and no one is complaining of UFC holding him hostage and aren't angry like they were when Bellator tried to keep Alvarez. To them and the media it's all about UFC. Anything UFC/Zuffa wants, UFC/Zuffa gets. It's even more annoying whenever someone outside the UFC looks great because all these zombies and media morons only want them in the UFC. It's always "I want to see how they would do in the UFC".

As for Golden Age, your right. At least European and Asian companies have more power and a foothold in their area.

Sadly, you can't blame these smaller companies for being feeder leagues. I don't like it but what can they do? They don't run enough shows, they don't make as much money, they don't have great TV deals, and they don't have the media in their back pocket. They just don't have the firepower to fight the UFC. It doesn't also help that most fighters aren't loyal to them and most drink the kool-aid so they only want to go to the UFC. Look at Eddie Alverez. He didn't care how he came off and he didn't care how bad he made Bellator. All he cared about was the UFC. He doesn't care if he blacklist himself. If he goes to the UFC then he'll think it's worth the sacrifice.

I agree....Too many damn feeder orgs. plus a lot of the Brazilian orgs. are feeder leagues.
