Wanderlei Silva hit by a car

WANDERLEI SILVA I'VE BEEN HIT BY A CAR ... Pray For Me

MMA legend Wanderlei Silva says he was hit by a car while riding his bike earlier Wednesday -- but it doesn't appear the injuries are life threatening.

Someone posted a statement confirming the accident on Wanderlei's official Twitter page ... saying Silva was biking home from a training session when he was hit.

According to the statement, Silva will require surgery on his shoulder ... but the extent of the damage is unclear. No word on where Silva was at the time of the accident, or if any arrests have been made.

Luckily, it doesn't sound like it was that serious, though he has to have shoulder surgery. Unfortunately, I bet this means he won't be in the Rizin OW GP in 4 months. Perhaps I am wrong but he was working on getting back into fighting shape as it was, and now he has to have shoulder surgery. I guess we will see.

At least it wasn't anything more serious and I am glad he is okay.

Glad to hear it's not too serious. Yeah, if he does get shoulder surgery, that could possibly affect the GP. Hard to say.

Bellator FW fighter Jordan Parsons was just recently killed after a hit and run. Fucking scary stuff, I'm glad Wand isn't severely hurt.

^Yeah, I know. It is. It really seems like people are driving much worse than they used too, around here anyway. Every time I am out on the road people drive like they have never been in a car before. Not sure what caused this change. I got bike riding a lot for exercise, makes me think twice about it!

He needs shoulder and knee surgery and said if ge didn't wear a helmet he may have died.
