Daniel Madrid vs. Ramazan Esenbaev set for May 16
Tue Apr 24, 2012 8:34 pm
Strong submission specialist from Gracie Fighting System will take on physically strong opponent with freestyle wrestling background on M-1 Challenge 32 tournament in Moscow, Russia.
Daniel “Blackout” Madrid (7-3) is big and aggressive welterweight with high-level submission skills. His debut in M-1 was very impressive, when he submitted M-1 Selection Americas winner Tom Gallicchio with an armbar in only 48 seconds.
Daniel’s next opponent was Russian veteran Erik Oganov who, quite surprisingly, put on his best performance in the last few years and became the first fighter who forced Daniel to tap. This time Arizona native is going to start his new winning streak on his way to M-1 champion title.
Ramazan Esenbaev (3-1) is not the biggest guy in the welterweight division, but his physical strength is almost second to none. Master of sport in freestyle wrestling, he is always tough and ready to fight with anyone. In his previous fight, against Bruno Carvalho, he was very close to the victory, but he lost eventually by split decision. The first defeat in Ramazan’s professional career only added to his motivation, so there is no doubt that he will be 100% ready for the battle in Moscow.
