It's insane! Imagine if Tenshin takes him out. If boxing is allowed then kickboxing should be allowed in alternate rounds or it should be MMA. The rules haven't been decided. If it is straight boxing like the rumors state then that is great too. Just crazy that Mayweather is coming out of retirement to fight Tenshin. This is huge news for JMMA.

The TMT logo is quite ubiquitous, which shows that this is a co-promotion.

I wonder if it is a one-off, or if Floyd is a promotional partner now. I would sort of guess the latter.

Hard to imagine that Floyd will make nearly as much money off of this as he would in a boxing match. If this is a promotional partnership, it shows that maybe over the long term it could be a good investment for Floyd (A) and that Rizin is interested in using Floyd's notoriety to push its brand into new markets, especially the US (B).

I'm anxious to learn what rules they will fight under.

I feel the same way.  I can't believe it either.  I wasn't expecting this at all.  I am a Floyd Mayweather fan overnight.  I was always impressed with his skill but now he is stepping into the Rizin ring with Tenshin.  Impressive move on his part.  

I think this is a partnership type deal.  I read that Mayweather wants to bring some of his boxers to Japan in the future.  

Also, I read that this is a special rules match.  It is rumored to be 3 x 3 minute rounds.  Man, I hope Tenshin can use kicks and as many weapons at his disposal!  He would put a hurting on Mayweather for sure.

It is interesting in the press conference video that Mayweather and his manager or agent Brent Johnson mentioned their future with Rizin a number of times. They mentioned basically that this is the beginning of a partnership and Floyd wants to bring his fighters over.

Cool that Tenshin said when he heard the opponent he accepted right away. It is cool that Tenshin gets the shot here. He deserves it.

With all that "evidence" of pride been fixed you would think they would sell it to the media and make bank.

They do bring up ex fighters saying pride was fixed you can 100% guarantee that say ex ufc fighters came out and ufc fixed fixes fights they don't know what they're talking about..
