OneFC 4 card takes new shape
Thu Jun 07, 2012 8:40 pm
Two major changes have occurred to the OneFC's Malaysian event.
The biggest coming with Phil Baroni's removal from the fight card. To preface this, safety was the number one topic at the inaugural One Asia MMA Summit. Taking fights upon being knocked out or having a fight stopped for similar reasons obviously have a huge impact on matchmaking in the organization. OneFC made the change from Barono to Evolve MMA's Zoro Moreira following Baroni's TKO loss in Denver this past weekend. As we have learned, and continue to learn, fighting after suffering trauma, such as Baroni, could be career threatening, if not fatal. Moreira steps in to replace Baroni in a Roger Huerta's first fight in the higher weight class.
Zoro is a highly touted fighter out of Evolve. With a brilliant grappling background, Moreira will look to
Huerta is in desperate need of a win in this fight. Having the worst skid of his career, Huerta is looking to get things back on the winning track against Moreira. Huerta's skid began upon his comeback in September of 2009 when he fought Gray Maynard to a split decision loss. Upon losing, Huerta hit a slippery slope. That said, as one of the former top five lightweights in the world it is very likely we have not seen the last of "El Matador".
Eddie Ng has bowed out of his fight with Arnaud Lepont due to an injury suffered during training. Replacing him is fellow Evolve teammate Brian Choi. Choi, who is highly touted by many in Asia will face the stiffest test he has yet to face in Lepont. At 8-1, Lepont has won every fight but one by either submission or knockout. Choi, meanwhile, is coming off a loss to Bae Young Kwon at RoadFC 005, where he fought the fellow South Korean to a decision loss.

Sucks about Ng, his fight with Lepont was shaping out to be one of the best of the night. Lepont should get the win and the match should be rescheduled within the next two events.
Huerta is just not the same. Zoro could be in over his head but if he fights smart, he should take the decision.

Zoro vs. Huerta is a sweet fight. I just wish it was at 155. Zoro could really establish himself off of Huerta's name. He has talent. This will be a tough test but if he can get the sub. it would be awesome.
It does suck that Ng is hurt.
