We should have some time of global mma award type of thing where members can vote in many various categories like Fight of the year, Sub of year, Promotion of the rise and the Global Fedor award.
We should do this near every ending of year.

so upset of the year canidate is none other then Eduardo Dantas vs tyson name at Shooto brazil. Anyone know of any other upsets of the year list them. So as it stands we will have Upset of the year, Fight of the year, Ko of the year, Sub of the year, Most valueable fighter, Fedor Global fighter award, Promotion on the rise, Come back of the year, Best walk of the year.


I also think there should be a Global MMA hall of fame with the first inductees as Kazushi sakuraba and Fedor Emilianeneko

Hall of Fame has to include Frank Shamrock, top MMA fighter of the 1990s, and John Perretti, who came up with the name MMA and the current format of the sport, among other things.

I know another part of Perretti's history is that he was the UFC matchamaker in the early days of Zuffa' ownership I'd love to hear the down low on his time there and the 'real' Fertitta stuff he must be aware of.

Frank? Absolutely! Man i really respect him and also feel bad for such an influencial figure in MMA being completly ignored today. When he retired nobody even cared. Frank should be day 1, no doubt.

John Perretti never worked for Zuffa. When they bought UFC, he was filming a movie in Italy. They spoke but he never worked for them.

Did he work for SEG. I thought he was also with the UFC at one point???

Thanks! Yes, he worked for SEG from late 2007 until they sold UFC in January 2001. He was the matchmaker. He also was matchmaker at Battlecade Extreme Fighting and for The Contenders grappling show.

I vote for Masakatsu Funaki and Minoru Suzuki too. Both legends who created Pancrase and were mixing styles and kicking ass even when in the west guys were still using Drunken monkey Kung Fu. Many great names of the sport were there before.

We can't forget about Takada too. Not a great fighter, actually not even a real fighter, but he was highly influencial figure in pro wrestling, used a realistic style in his matches, and of course, went on to make that org that some here like....

Agree about upset of the year, Nam KOing Dantas was a huge surprise. Hall of fame should be most of the PRIDE legends.

It would be cool if there were both Zuffa & G-MMA (Non-Zuffa) type awards as well for Fighter of the Year, KO of the Year, Sub of the Year, Fight of the Year, Upset of the Year,............

It would be cool to have the awards linked at the top of the web page as well or on the home page.
