Vadim Finkelstein: The upcoming championship - is a significant event. This is the first official championship of Russia on mixed martial arts. In Moscow will gather athletes from all regions of Russia. The young and promising kids an opportunity to perform at the championship. Everyone can turn into a regional organization and try your hand, a good performance in the qualifying competitions.
Aleksander Emelianenko : I think the organization of the first Russian championship for mixed martial arts - a very important step in the development of the sport, its official recognition.
In the Championship will be open to young athletes. They will have the opportunity to express themselves, to be able to represent our country in international competition, as well as to realize themselves professionally in the sport. "
Kamil Hajiyev (Moscow): MMA in Russia - a trend gaining momentum with each passing day the popularity and visibility of the sport. This growth is due primarily to the success of Fedor Emelianenko in the international arena and the emergence of MMA tournaments on federal TV channels. Today, Russian soldiers are represented in all the world's leading promotions, in Russia, the major tournaments are held almost every month.
Russia's MMA has a great future, but it is necessary to satisfy a number of conditions. First of all the victories of our guys on a high level, and that they will be the main impetus for the recognition of MMA in Russia, a country that requires strong and courageous heroes. The second necessary condition for the development of MMA in Russia will not increase the number and quality of the tournament. Public began to understand the details and nuances, it should motivate, it requires high-quality content.
Cup of Russia - is primarily mass and availability! Now everyone has a chance.
Russian Championship - the first step toward recognition as an official sport of MMA, giving new status to our species!
Armen Danelyan (Rostov-on-Don): I think it's a time when the development of MMA in Russia has reached the point where it is necessary to combine all. If earlier it was local development, but now the whole of Russia is engaged in mixed martial arts. The first championship - a new name, a good opportunity for young people to show themselves.

Fedor, Vadim & FILA are going to make MMA into a mainstream publicly accepted (like Judo) completely global sport... NOT THE UFC!!!!
I hope somebody gets the irony here???
In the not too distant future there will be 10's of thousands of amateur MMA athletes from all countries all over the world competing to become the best.
I means 'real' competitions with 'real' regional/national/world tournaments - 'real' national/world rankings with NO HYPE just you beating the entire field to PROVE your #1. Then think of the technical quality of fighters coming from that kind of system into pro MMA and the type of physical athletes that will be drawn into the sport from a very young age. 8)

KSW is great as well.
Its good that there are now different promotions in Europe with top events and great fighters coming through.
Its really starting to look healthier than the current downward slide of Zuffa and their abysmal talent program. I mean TUF is just bush league compared to these FILA approved amateur program in these affiliated countries.
