Bellator 81 ratings: Numbers hold steady, still below season average

For the second straight week, Bellator ratings fell below the Season 7 average.
This past weekend's Bellator 81 event averaged 149,000 MTV2 viewers, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed with industry sources.
That's up slightly from the 148,000 viewers who turned in a week prior for Bellator 80.
Bellator 80 took place Nov. 16 at Ryan Center at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston. The main card, which followed Spike.com prelims, featured the semifinal round of the organization's current lightweight tournament. Marcin Held and Dave Jansen both picked up victories to advance to the tourney final.
With the latest event, Bellator's eight Season 7 events now have averaged 166,000 viewers.
Bellator's current season is the final one on MTV2 before the organization moves to the higher-rated Spike TV, the former home of the UFC, in early 2013.
