Sat Jan 26, 2013 4:59 pm
The last two years have been great for Rolles Gracie. With two victories in two matches in 2011, 2012 closed black belt with a golden key, just the way you like: finalizing.
On the last day of the year, he took note of Yusuke Kawaguchi and finished in the triangle in just two minutes of the fight, at Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye. The victory assured another season unbeaten, this time adding three more victories in the cartel, which displays eight positive results and only a setback. In great phase, Rolles plans as will the 2013 season for him.
"My wish is to at least make three more fights, with three WINS to not break the string. There are five fight win streak, and the level of competition now is difficult to reach this mark. The year 2012 in this respect has been very good to me, and I'm sure 2013 will be even better and with more opportunities, "he said, in an interview with the MAT.
Rolles Gracie has a contract with two organizations: the Asia One FC and the American WSOF. For him, no matter what event will your next presentation. What he wants is actually just fight: "Are two companies I have link. For me, it does. I want to work. I want to be ready for when the chance for a title appears, I be quoted ".
String in heavy weight
With 1, 93 m tall, Rolles is naturally a heavy fighter. Having never been concerned to cut weight to their struggles, the carioca wants to follow as well, and neither is considering going down to light heavyweight.
"I think just 93 kg battery cutting a leg (laughs). In my last fight, I was with 108kg. Guess I can't cut much weight, feel very skinny. I weigh 110 kg. I have been with 115 kg paper, but felt too heavy and slow, "he reveals.
So, between the heavy, he believes that his next fight will be at One FC, where he knocked out Bob Sapp and Tony Bonello: "One is already with the card closed for its next edition in February. So if my fight is over there will be later. The WSOF yet nor is expected to new edition, then it may be that my next fight is in Asia. I'll wait who offer me any fight first ".
Confidence in Roger in the UFC
For almost three years without representing the family in the Octagon of Ultimate, Rolles Gracie has a lot of confidence in his cousin Roger, who migrated from now defunct Strikeforce for the biggest MMA event on the planet. For him, the height and intelligence of Roger, besides, of course, his Jiu-Jitsu can be the great differential of the athlete in UFC.
"The arrival of Roger in UFC is very good for the family and for all the fighters of Jiu-Jitsu in General. The Roger is a calm guy, that follows the strategy developed for combat, and adding that with his wingspan and skill on the ground will take you far in the medium ", analyzes Rolles, which included the strengthening of cornered Roger in his last fight by One FC. "We have trained a lot in the United States, with and without clothes".
If Roger will still have their chance in the Octagon, Rolles already had his. At UFC 109 in February 2010, he signed with the franchise and measured forces with Joey Beltran, but was surprised and knocked out in the second round. Three years later, he reveals to have risen to Octagon injured and don't have as main focus on career have a new opportunity in the event chaired by Dana White.
"I don't know if it's the goal of returning to the UFC what I have in mind. I was very disappointed with their policy. But, despite having fought injured, without being 100%, I feel that I was having there. So, if I'm on the right track, fighting, winning, finishing, a phone call from them will be a consequence. So, I will have the opportunity to show that the fight was merely an accident and path that my place is among the best fighters in the world ".
