helping out poor Cosmo? A world class Thai fighter on the Bellator prelims just makes no sense.
Also, how much is this guy making a fight? seems to be close to nothing.

Didn't Keith Jardine get paid 8K to beat Chuck Liddell, who was paid 500K flat? And hasn't Keith went on record that he had to go to the gym days after getting knocked out to help Rashad and complained of nauseating headaches, all because Rashad was paying him to be a sparring partner and he needed the money?

Not sure of Fun Size's story but it sounds like the standard "I was a high earner, wasn't good enough and got cut" story.

Cosmo's contract is likely low - he only fights on undercards - because he also has his income subsidized by fighting in muaythai/kickboxing.

Eddie tried to figure out how much he's worth on the market and got screwed. The UFC lowballed him and Bellator matched. If anything it's the UFC's fault - why didn't they give him "Lombard money," which Bjorn has went on record saying he couldn't match? If anything, the UFC never paid him what he's worth. The UFC is a supposed billion-dollar industry - why can't they give their guys deals? Is there some trouble financially with the UFC? Why are these rapid firesales?

If true, disgusting business practices by Bjorn here. This reminds me of how Moratti & the scum behind the glass at Inter treated Wesley Snejider this year.

However, Eddie's word is worth nothing to me. He comes off as a brainless goon whose chin has been touched too many times. I'd like to hear both sides of the story. But I wouldn't be surprised if Ariel Helwani dedicated his entire MMA Hour show to this cryptic tweet, got Fun Size sobbing all over the microphone just for UFC mudslinging propaganda.

I love me some Cosmo. But I bet his contract was low because he never expected for MMA to be anything other than fights on the side, mostly due to the uncertainty surrounding IST & other promotions in Europe. Nobody put a gun to Cosmo's head and made him sign the contract.

They're at the point where they don't have to utilize so many local fighters on their cards and get more of their fighters bouts.

I'm sure he'd like to get a fight, but the thing is it isn't like he gets paid for not fighting. I don't quite understand what the controversy here is about.

In reality, I don't think any athlete likes being put on the shelf, regardless of being paid or not.

Be that as it may, I don't see how (on the face of it) that it is Bellator's fault that he can't afford a full tank of gas.

Does Bellator disrespect fighters who are not under Bellator contract and pretend they´re irrelevant? Does Bellator talk shit about other promotions? Is Bellator trying to rewrite history?

1. As far as Alvarez goes... he is a disgruntled employee who signed a legally binding contract fully knowing what eh was signing and EXACTLY what he'd be signing if he signed with the UFC. Plain and simple. Why was he not brought out all of his injustice claims from he and other fighters before all this???

2. On the pay issue... you have to look at economies of scale. The UFC has like 10X the revenues of Bellator. You can't expect someone like MFC to being paying current UFC scale (still unfair based on ticket-PPV sales et all) wages. Don't tell me the UFC has 10X the overhead percentage per event as Bellator & Spike???.

3. I have no idea what the particulars are with Cosmo & Bellator. What I do know is the majority of fighters under contract to a $2B valued $300M-$400M annual revenue organization have problems making a full time living working for the UFC after their costs. That is sad. Something is wrong there.

4. What would happen if some UFC fighters had the balls to come out and say this...
