That fight may have gone the distance I Mirko was able to use the perforated steel wall to hold himself up from being taken down. Mirko tried to use the ropes to hold himself up and eventually slinging an arm over top in and effort to be held up by the ropes. Herb Dean would have none of that. Mirko also spralled out to the end of the ring but there was no cage there to stop him and to use an obstacle to stop Oleniulk's TD's.

This fight is a very good example of how much the cage thwarts good TD attempts. The game is a lot different with out that weapon and affects the outcomes of fights substantially. The ring???... Not so much. Big advantage for a very good wrestler like Cain and others who use the cage as a weapon to pin opponents against... you bet!

Since when does beating Cro cop make you a hot name? Not since 2007 has he been a good win on anyone's resume.

He's a hot name based on his recent body of work, not solely because he beat Cro Cop. I don't expect a Zuffa apologist such as yourself to comprehend such a concept.

CC always used only bjj defense and it worked he got too confident and went for offence, if he did it old way... I would like to see rematch!
Btw CC or Oleinik vs loser of Reem/Mir would be cool!

Cro Cop vs Reem and Oleinik vs Mir sounds badass. I´m sick of Zuffa controlling the fighters, they should have non-exclusive contracts so the athletes can compete all over the world.

Zhuravlev, he beat Preteni in the finals.

Samedov won his semi-final bout but got a cut in his fight with Manhoef so Samedov was replaced with Agron Preteni who beat Andrei Stoica in the reserve bout.

Hopefully Samedov can meet Zhuravlev at a future event.

Still sounds pretty legit. Preteni definitely deserved a shot for beating Stoica. Zhuravlev/Samedov does sound too good to pass on, though.

Wasn't able to watch the show, how was it ?

Just saw the Badr, Manhoef and Cro Cop fights.

Manhoef vs Samedov was a pretty good fight, Manhoef seemed a little too worried about Samedov though, Samedov is looking strong lately.

Badr fought a pretty safe fight (understandable) and took the victory, still a long way from the old Badr though.

Oleinik is a real good fighter and in our top 6 at HW outside UFC. He is a long time vet of the sport (been fighting since 1997 (16 year veteran)) with 58 fights on his record (48-9-1). That's 48 wins with 39 submissions and 4 knockouts. In his last 4 fights (over the last 7 months) he submitted Tony Lopez, Dion Staring, Jeff Monson, and Cro Cop so he's on a tear lately.
