That's right. Plus, Subba is fighting.

I really don't know what to expect with Yamaguchi/Montague. I think its a perfect kind of styles clash and should make for an excellent fight. Yamaguchi has looked really good since his last loss to Kojima (outside of the loss to Formiga) and Montague is really looking for that definitive win to get him into the UFC and get a rematch with McCall.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Montague pressure Yamaguchi everywhere with grappling, especially since Formiga, although on another level grappling wise, was quite successful nullifying any sort of attack. Yamaguchi has fought guys like this before and has looked to have had a really good camp with some fairly good grapplers, so I really like his chances.

I don't know if he'll be able to finish him, but I'm confident that Mamoru has enough to win this fight.

I don't know much about Yamaguchi, he hasn't fought since I started getting into the regional scene. But I have seen Montague fight and I still can't believe he hasn't been signed. The UFC signed Gomez, a fighter that Mongoose flat out owned for 25 minutes. One of the most dominating decision fights I can recall.

Anyway, I agree about the grappling angle and expect a lot of clinch-work. But I'm guessing that Yamaguchi is scrappy enough to keep the fight interesting. The entire card has the potential to be quite memorable and it's too bad that it's being so overshadowed by the DREAM card.

Those Fight Night events are pretty entertaining, I kind of like the addition of live bands.

About Bagautinov, I'm not sure that fight was at flyweight. On the tale of the tape, Bernhard was listed at 57kg but Ali was listed at 61kg. idk

Mostly, I was disappointed that they didn't find Ali a better opponent. Berhard is a really small flyweight (he made McVeigh look like a MW), I think he's listed at 5'1. And Bagautinov had already whipped him in a Sambo match. Just saying.

But I'm not talking down Bagautinov, I love his fight style. I even hyped him as "the most exciting fighter in the world" on Tapology earlier this year (not much love for Russians around there though). Looking forward to seeing him up against a top 10er--which could happen soon. After Khabilov's performance the other day, I have a feeling Sambo fighters are going to be getting a lot more respect.

The big question, as wekka pointed out, is whether Ali will settle at 125. Not that he couldn't be a contender at 135 though, they guy is dynamite. If you want to see the fight that got me hyping him, it can be found here: (just insane)

Oh, and he's also the fighter who got his ear ripped off in a fight back in September, and still managed to finish his opponent. Pretty crazy stuff.

Yeah, that was the first full Fight Nights show I watched. They put on a pretty entertaining event. The fights delivered as well on the MMA side. A lot of fights were finished quickly.

The Ali fight was for the flyweight title. I think one of them might have come in over weight but Ali was defending the title.

Hopefully they give Ali a step up in competition. He looked real solid during that short time he fought. Yeah, a top 10 fight would be good for him. He's being hyped as the top European flyweight by Sherdog. There is another site that has him at number 3 flyweight in Europe.

That is crazy. I remember the ear thing. I will check out the fight vid.

Just watched. Yeah, he dominated that fight. Jumping over the legs to drop punches. Nice.

I would only assume Gomez got the nod due to a previous relationship with the UFC, he did partake in a grappling match with Rumina Sato at the UFC 100 Expo. Montague WILL be in the UFC eventually, no doubt about it, and if he defeats Yamaguchi, i'm sure he'll be there early next year.

Yamaguchi is pretty scrappy but he does struggle with those that have elite grappling and are extremely well rounded. Case in point, Formiga and Kojima x2. This fight is as 50/50 as you can get.

Another pivotal 125 bout next year at the upcoming CFA card as Alexis Vila makes his return back to 125, when he faces mid-tier watchlister Josh Sampo who has wins over Antonio Banuelos and fellow watchlister Dustin Ortiz.

Huge fight for both guys as Vila was without a doubt the best kept secret of 125 at one point and perennial top ten guy before his move to Bantamweight for Bellator. Sampo has been on fire this year and a win for Sampo against Vila could easily make him a contender.

The problem might be that the winner could undoubtedly be signed by the UFC afterwards.

Vila finally coming back. Wish he would have went to a bigger name org. though at FLW. If this is a permanent move, which it seems like, after this fight I will drop him from BW rankings.

Sampo just took out Banuelos. Not the most exciting fight I've seen but it was a big win nonetheless.

Jan. 19th is the fight date. I'll have to check out this one.

He's really trying hard to get into the UFC's Flyweight division, so I think he'll just fight at home against as big as names as possible until he gets a call. You'll probably see fights against Riggleman and Makovsky soon after.

A fight with Makovsky would be great. Hopefully GLORY can really revive JMMA and fighters will start wanting to head over there rather than fight for only UFC as a goal.
