Nice to see that Sakuraba will be in a grappling exhibition since he shouldn't take a lot of damage. Love seeing Kato there and kudos to Bellator for loaning him.

Wand vs Sakuraba grappling match is cool. That is what older grapplers should be doing later in their careers, grappling matches. They shouldn't keep taking damage.

Sakuraba vs Kron in a grappling match would be cool too.

I don't mind the old guys fighting, but they need to be fighting each other. Not getting killed by the younger guys.

Aoki vs sakuraba was as much of a travesty as kimbo vs dada was.

Put Sakuraba vs. Royce Gracie, Fujita vs. Shamrock or something not your top LH vs. old legend.

The weird thing with JMMA is that they like to "sacrifice" their Japanese fighters.
Fighters like Hidehiko Yoshida and Sakuraba could have had huge winning streaks fighting guys their size but no give CroCop to Saku who could been ww G.O.A.T and Yoshida in Wand fights showed that he was a top LH(they could give him decision) but apart from fights with Wand we never saw some LH fights with Yoshida like Yoshida vs. Rampage, Randleman(R.I.P), Arona, Murilo, Hendo...

Do not get me wrong I LOVE weight class crossovers but those where never in Japanese fighters advantage.

Fujita isnt passing any torch neither was sakuraba.....

If fujita was fighting an up and coming hw but a win for Jiri against an over the hill hw isnt a big feather in his cap.

Fujita should fight TK who looked amazing against colossus.

Jiri should be fighting a top lhw from one of the federations orgs.

This isnt new years eve there is no excuse why they can't put together a good COMPETITIVE card.....

This follow up card will be scrutinized by everyone i was really hoping they got the matchmaking on point,IMO it seems they are stumbling a bit.

Hope this card gets a kick in the pants soon so far im not that excited tbh.

Yeah I understand how they´re thinking. They´re sacrificing Fujita to a possible new Vovchanchyn/Cro Cop type of fighter. Rizin knows the east euro fighters is the key to success since they have the right style and the fans love them like Fedor, Cro Cop, Aleks, Vovchanchyn, Zaromskis etc..

But do you really think jmma fans will care???

They are the onky fans that coukd possibly enjoy this matchup as most fans will not like this at all especially after aoki vs sakuraba.

Fujita shoulda fought on the very first Rizin card to pass the torch...

Like i said before this card is pretty weaksauce i was hoping for a step up in fight quality and matchmaking....

Unfortunately it seems Rizins stuck in NYE matchmaking.....hope fights that matter get added soon.

Hell yeah I'm gonna tune in to watch Fujita die for JMMA's sins.



Jiri is an amazing fighter and deserves the build up! Agreed it sucks it's old man Iron Head but he seems like the type of guy, as a long time pro wrestler, who doesn't mind giving it all for the show.
