I hope so too but Gomi is one of those guys who went from a legendary granite chin to glass and Guillard can definitely knock him out. The plus side for Gomi is that Guillard is one of the most famous head cases in MMA who can pull out defeat from the jaws of victory. If we saw both at their best, I would easily pick Gomi but now, I think anything can happen and nothing should surprise us.

Good points. At their best, Gomi takes this for sure. I think he can still take it despite his chin. If they start throwing it may be whoever lands good first wins this one.

I'm In agreement if this was 2005 gomi he would win hands down Melvin has always been the kind of person that falters any time he fought some one in the top 10. Gomi should of retired soon after pride that's when he started going hot and cold But of course ufc fans have this idea that if you're not carrying win streak in the ufc then you are always overrated . Case in point wanderlei silva he won 22 in Japan but can't win 2 straight in the us.CDF47 wrote:Rocksoldier84 wrote:CDF47 wrote:Kingfedor wrote:

1 no shit Sherlock that is were he spent his prime years and pride was the biggest promotion at the time yeah I know try and fucking telling them that.
2 wanderlei was 4.4 in his last 8 pride fights and 2 he was brutally knocked out cold.
I can not wait until organisations like rizin and bellator overtake the ufc. I bet they will find out real quick how loyal their fans are m

That would have been a good time for Gomi to retire. I am hoping he starts to find some success in Rizin in the twilight of his career. Maybe a win here could start a trend for him. It would be good to see him go out strong before hanging up the gloves.

Different thing I predict that who ever wins the cormier miocic fight you will see articles and comments like this on "this insert fighter is the greatest of all time " until next week then it is someone else. Maybe that is why fedor also wins the goat polls because the ufc and its fans are not consistent on who the goat. Fedor is the goat though I do not give a shit how "evolved" it gets. After all 31-1-0-1 in those 10 years which is still the winningest record especially at the highest level being a 10x champion it is bull shit how they think that needs to be dismissed the ufc do have that what have done for me lately attitude fans of the

You'd think they learn that you don't just slap the GOAT label on someone. Look at Cain. They were so quick to put the heavyweight GOAT label on him after his thrashing of JDS in their third fight and he's gone 1-1 in the last five years while not having fought in two years.

^^ give until another title match and they would call this fighter the greatest ever ^^ as for stipe yes he is one of the top 5 heavyweight ever but if people are going to give fedor shit for losing they should give stipe shit as well I mean he was tko by struve who has struve beaten? Zombie nog.
Daniel cormier I like dc he is one of my favourites but the fact is he only got the light heavyweight championship due to jon Jones fucking up as I said goats don't get the belt due to the division champion fucking up.

Yeah. Even if you don't like Fedor, Miocic is still not Heavyweight GOAT as he's also not higher than Big Nog or Couture.
Exactly right about Cormier. Obviously great fighter but he never beat Jones to win it and it was given back after Jones failed a drug test. Cormier can make excuses but the fact is, he failed to beat Jones in two attempts. Cormier is also fighting at Light Heavyweight so he's dropping down a class where he can bully people with his wrestling. Also, Cormier is planning to retire so what happens if he never defends the heavyweight title?

^^they are not very consistent with it give it a month and they will sing another tune to. I have always said fedor is the goat and I have listed why that is. If people think someone else is the goat that is fine I don't whine about it I do take issues with the whole fedor is can crusher pride was fake song they love did he fight cans yes he did I won't deny it but it is amazing how they can name a few people. Pride was fake yeah some fights were fixed that probably adds to less then 5% of the whole organisation's history.

Is he retiring after this fight or if he losses? What do they do especially if Daniel wins do they hand the belt back to stipe ? He technically would not be actual champion oh well the fact that the ufc has to have these super fights to garner real interest shows the ship is slowly sinking.

All in purpose he has had a good career for a guy who started at 30 though having the wrestling pedigrees helped out there he probably would not have got as far if he didn't have them. Any way back to the rizin card looking forward to itRocksoldier84 wrote:CDF47 wrote:I didn't know Cormier was planning on retiring soon. I guess it makes sense, he has good studio jobs with the UFC.

I have
1 horiguchi
2 asakura
3 tenshin
4 kitiaoka
4 guilard I think he has a bit more left in the tank though if it was 2005 gomi he would smash any version of guilard. I will add im glad that Wikipedia has taken out the rizin is a regional promotion.

Nice picks. I pretty much have the same, although I am really hoping Gomi can pull out an upset back in Japan.
