Megumi Fujii will face off against #1 ranked Jessica Aguilar in her final fight. This was the fight that Megumi wanted and she got it. VTJ released a statement stating that Megumi wanted to face Jessica for several reasons. Megumi wants to avenge her loss to Jessica and also wants to face a friend and someone that she respects in her final fight. The same statement also states that when offered the fight, Jessica Aguilar quickly agreed, stating that she should be Megumi’s final opponent. With the number 1 and 2 fighters fighting, VTJ has booked a solid match for their 3rd event. Following the fight, Megumi will have her retirement ceremony.

Mega Megu is the GOAT of WMMA no doubt. She just did amazing things for MMA in general, she will be missed.KSW wrote:^Nice, too bad Fujii is retiring

Vale Tudo Japan 3: Megu's Mega Goodbye
Thu Sep 19, 2013 3:49 am
Didn't see a thread on this, so I decided to make one. I hope you guys are as interested in it as I am. I think this is the real deal and these shows are how Shooto is going to become a prominent organization in Japan once again and bring people back to the great sport known as Mixed Martial Arts.
So far this is the fight card and I think Mach Sakurai vs Shamar Baily is going to be added soon!

They are no post-TUF UFC-only members here. Only long-time posters from all the big sites who love all MMA, and all MMA fighters, all over the world. Many of us were run off of those sites for our non-UFC-only views and our issues with the Zuffa braintrust's way of doing business and where they have been steering the sport. We're really a resistance to that.

EDIT-SRC, there is already a thread on this so I merged the topics.
I was always generally entertained by him, outside of the Takaya fight.
I've heard the same thing about Mach, but I didn't know it was being considered for VTJ. I heard it was going to take place in DEEP.
I like what Shooto is doing with the VTJ series this year. I just really hope they start running shows more often next year, since a lot of guys have been on the shelf far too long. I think it's about time Haruo Ochi gets booked!

Although I did enjoyed watching Miyata slam him back to shooto.
