One of MMA's top heavyweight prospects is coming to World Series of Fighting.

Steve Mocco, a two-time NCAA Division I heavyweight champion and four-time All-American, signed a four-fight contract with the promotion, WSOF executive vice president Ali Abdel-Aziz informed MMAFighting.com.

Abdel-Aziz said Mocco's WSOF debut will be "very soon" but stopped short at providing any other details.

The 32-year-old Mocco, a member of American Top Team, has gone 4-0 in his MMA career since debuting in Nov. 2012. He's won three of his four fights via the submission.

Considered one of the most dominant collegiate heavyweight wrestlers of all time, Mocco was also a member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic freestyle wrestling team. Prior to that, Mocco wrestled at the University of Iowa and Oklahoma State University.

There are more promotions who are working with Zuffa so WSOF stays in the global section. When/if we get 100% proof that WSOF or another promotion is a Zuffa owned company it will be in the Zuffa section.

Yeah CD their hw division is bleak this Guy could run through most the division as it stands.

They need serious signings at lhw and above it's pitiful no reason to even have a hw wsof champ at this point.

Somehow I don't think WSOF,which is drew under a 100k its last show, is getting a better deal than those two. It seems like Zach Arnold is right when he says Sig Rogich is financing it partly as a hobby and partly as a favor to the Fertittas."

They do need to sign some HWs and LHWs. They should have a GP as well to build up these divisions or at least a 4 to 8 man tournament. HW tournament should be for the belt. Rumble should have gotten the LHW belt with that last win.

It's just difficult because there is no absolute proof they have business ties to Zuffa. They definitely could though, not saying they don't.
