Sat Feb 18, 2012 5:20 pm
Bellator Fighting Championships has signed once-beaten Russian prospect Magomed Saadulaev (14-1 MMA, 0-0 BFC).
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed the deal with sources close to the fighter.
Saadulaev, who has competed at welterweight in his native nation, is expected to drop to 155 pounds under the Bellator banner.
Saadulaev is expected to make his debut in a non-tournament bout during Bellator's upcoming sixth season and could potentially fight in a future tournament, as well.
Fighting professionally since 2008, Saadulaev has racked up 14 wins in 15 contests. Eight of those wins have come via submission while the rest have been earned via decision.
Saadulaev currently boasts a three-fight win streak, earned following his lone career defeat.
Bellator's upcoming sixth season kicks off on March 9 with Bellator 60. The promotion is hosting season-six tourneys in the bantamweight, featherweight, lightweight, welterweight and middleweight divisions. Each tourney winner gets $100,000 in total pay and a guaranteed title shot.

They need to stop stealing M-1 fighters though.

No doubt and I think Bellator got M-1s warning. There are tons of talented fighers from that area, just don´t take the M-1 title contenders.ZuffaKiller wrote:They need to stop stealing M-1 fighters though.

Gonna have to start calling them Bellatov or Bolshitov FC. My feelings are mixed. Bolshit haha.
If Bellator is gonna sign something now, please god be willing it is the ring and Russian MMA rules!

If Bellator switch to a ring I will surrender completely. It would give the promotion a completely new look. Tourneys with world class fighters in a ring on a regular basis.Dagwood wrote:Gonna have to start calling them Bellatov or Bolshitov FC. My feelings are mixed. Bolshit haha.

Its just as much as the fault of the fighters for wanting to make the jump, so don't put all the blame on Bellator.
