not to stream it but for the ppv payment itself. It's why ufc charges 59.99 because the cable/sat companies take half.

if it's paypal they are getting raped, paypal is an ebay company and ebay screws you for over 9%. I doubt anyone on ustream is getting even 60% of the money they take in. I will write dave meltzer and see if he knows what ustream's backend ppv cut is.

I doubt ustream take HALF and they don't take paypal at all but regardless, my point stands that it's pure money in the pocket 10k or 20k, it doesn't matter that's a nice chunk of change for NJPW and would be a substantial profit for a JMMA show.

strange they dont take paypal straight because when you click buy now they are definitely using paypal as the backend because it's loading up javascript from paypalobjects.com.

njpw sells well enough they dont mind if a stream is there because they aren't worried about ticket sales. Most mma shows might think it could impact the local ticket sales if people can watch online.

yeah and shooto already has a partner account at youtube, they could stream live to the world and increase their branding with very little effort. I wonder why they dont look at what the UFC and WWE do and put some effort into some better marketing and money making schemes.

what seems like an insignificant fight on paper is actually a perfect fight for VTJ. Just like the mid 90s events, a perfect match of styles clash. While I don't see Muay Thai having anything for a well rounded mixed martial artist, it could still end up surprisingly good.

For VTJ 09 there was a few people who basically begged the owner of mma-tv to find a stream source - he did then the stream cut out I think 2 fights in and no one was awake to fix it. I don't know if any of you guys were watching that stream but it was hilarious / saddening. I think it cut out right after Chiquerim broke Togashis nose.


Not sure if there is still any easier avenue to view it live not in Japan.

nicovideo is a maze if you're not in a chat to get help. Anyway this card is savage, can't wait to find out what happens.
