I think all the fixed fights PRIDE put on was a big difference as well.

Fixing fights is far worse than anything Zuffa has done. Waits for Shamrock/Franklin gif....

Whether or not pride had a more respectful and traditional angle on martial arts and mma they certainly were guilty of some horrible shit behind the scenes.

Both company's at one point oR another were top dogs and to get there they both made questionable decisions.

They did have ties with the Yakuza, but so did a ahndful of other major kakutogi organizations.

Outside of that, all there really were was the Takada farces.

I don't know why Dana continues to antagonize PRIDE. It was years ago. I remember TWICE Wanderlei Silva came to the United States and challenged Chuck. When he challenged Chuck at PRIDE 32, I figured there was a chance it could happen. But Wanderlei then was knocked out by Henderson & the idea of the fight, as a co-promotion, disappeared. It's the same as when Chuck quit against Rampage and never got his shot at Wand.

 Dana hates PRIDE because it was the opposite of Ultimate FC. PRIDE used the ring, better rules/scoring and focused on the martial arts aspect of the sport.

All promotions that are similar to PRIDE are huge threats to UFC because they could destroy the "monopoly" and offer the fans something completely different.
